Yeah I was at this game. No way there were 34K. The Stadium only holds 40K max. I was able to move down the the first level with easy. most of the upper level was open. I would be surprised if there were more then 20K there.

There is no way there were 50k at the Liberty Bowl. I was there. 35k at most

Except for the sellouts, most of these numbers are fake as crap. They probably used the UTAD to do the embellished tallying. That being said, in a world of faked numbers, the Vols fanbase is 2nd to none!!!

I was there too, and 35k is grossly underestimating. Certainly not 61k, but easily 50k.

People have weird estimates when it comes to crowd...they judge crowd size based on what Neyland looks like with empty sections, which still would be one of the top ten crowds in the country any given game

Not even close. It only holds 60 k. The only close to full section was K states side. The end zones, uppers, and half of Navy’s side were virtually empty.

Probably 40 k really ...maybe low 40s.

Georgia fans suck. How do you only bring 55k to the Sugar Bowl. It's not like it's a ridiculous distance either

As an Atlanta native, I can tell you the lack of excitement from that fanbase for going to an off-year Sugar Bowl for the second year in a row when they thought they were going to the playoffs both years was palpable. I had a Georgia fan friend tell me that Sugar Bowl tickets were going for as little as $6 on secondary ticket sites.

You must have watched with blinders on. End zones were full. And it holds 67,814.

I bet they'll be more selective and get a better match-up for that bowl next year. I watched some of the games this year but not as avid about it for some reason. Most of the stadiums looked half-empty and I found that strange. Very few of the games looked to be tightly contested and most were boring, imo.LSU vs. OU was a disappoitment too.

It holds 58,325.

So now take that 10 k off your guesstimate, and there we are at 40k.

I may be a tad low, but you are way high.
Where are you getting your capacity info?

Liberty Bowl.

You are showing the Gator Bowl.
Okay— took me forever to understand what you were talking about, I had to go back and re-read your original post. I thought you were saying that you went to the Gator Bowl and I was massively confused on how you came up with those numbers. My bad.

A lot of these bowl games are becoming the equivalent of opening round games in the NCAA basketball tournament as to actual attendance at the contest vs stadium capacity. I recently heard a nationally syndicated sports radio host call all these bowl games except the semifinal games meaningless exhibitions that a lot of players and fans don’t want to go to. Georgia’s attendance at the Sugar Bowl is telling as is Auburn’s at the Outback. I think the days of these games are likely numbered.

I think the Bowls will continue to be played because people watch them and they make money
