Develop one of Shrout and Maurer to the point you can trust them to start, and give him minutes bringing him off the bench...it works for him, and it worked for Spurrier when he had to do it.Yeah...I'm not "excited" for him to be our starting QB. But he's a great teammate to have in that QB room with all the **** he's gone through, even if he never plays another meaningful minute at UT I'd rather him on the roster helping teach the young bucks.
JG -in game- has mental blocks, no denying it. But JG is without question doing everything "right" in preparation for game day. The coaches, the media, the players all say this and see it. Those habits need to be inherited by Maurer, JT, Bailey and any other QB on this team.
I guess my point is Osovet is already on staff and you are already benefitting from his talents/ability. There’s a reason he hasn’t gotten an on field job here or anywhere else up to this point. What is silly about promoting Osovet? He has paid his dues for two yrs on staff in off field coaching role as he was asked. Part of the reason he came and gave up a HC job was the expectation that he gets a full time role if he proves himself. I think he will prove to be a relentless recruiter. He does well without the position so being able to travel will only increase his ability to recruit. He is a grinder and highly respected in industry. He deserves a shot and has shadowed Yac at WR and RB for two yrs. it’s obvious the plan was for him to take Yac spot at some point in time.
If not him I’d want McClendon. Got to be hard to be demoted and stay on staff but he has experience with Bobo so probably makes it easier for him to accept
Well @Geaux_Vols is famous now.
Don’t tell @InVOLuntary poor guy.Hat tip goes to the defense. On the field TWICE in the final 4 minutes of the game and 0 points.
I'm in the Osovet for on field job camp.
