Great coaches become great over time. Look at Neuland, Bryant, Saban, they didn’t just suddenly appear brilliantly on stage. It takes a while. Pruitt is learning. But he already shows a feel for the flow of a game and he knows how to get his players to work as a true team. That is a leader. The learning continues. I think one day we will see that he is a really really good one

Disagree. We were incredibly lucky to win a game that never should have been close. We have more 4 star recruits in every single recruiting class than they’ve had in the last 20 years. There’s a huge talent disparity between the two teams. We were pushing them around easily to start the game. But Pruitts reluctance to go away from Jg is just so damn shocking. He did make a good call on the onside kick. But that was the only good call he made and had a whole bunch of bad ones in between. Why didn’t he stick with Maurer? He was in for 1 drive and we scored on it. He’s ability to run is significant. And we went with the prevention their second to last drive and gave them every opportunity to drive down and score

I think the defense won this game for them.

Kept Indiana at bay early when Tennessee was struggling in the red zone. Then even later in the game they kept coming up big time....with sacks, and defended passes.

The QB got loose (for a while) and it almost cost Tennessee the game......but the D hung in there and came through.

We have to figure out a way to keep the Qb from scrambling for 10 yards over and over. I think getting better dline play will right this

I will also say with the field goal on the first drive a field goal by Indiana at the end still wouldn’t have been enough points to beat us so along with the onside kick we got lucky. You can say Pruitt won it for us but he also almost lost it for us with that call going for it on 4th and goal and coming away with 0 points.

They really looked bad that game and I wasn’t expecting that but glad we somehow got a win

I noticed a lot of fans were criticizing Pruitt pretty harshly for his timeout before the playclock expired on IU's last fg attempt. I thought it was a pretty smart move myself. Had he not done that then they would not have tried the fg and instead have went for it. Them converting (it would have been 4th and 13) would have been disastrous possibly giving them a last second chip shot or giving the vols under a minute to try answering.

This is the truth, but to many of the younger generation have to have the instant gratification. Its funny to read some of their belligerent posts though.

And JG have them six points as well.
Defense really held them to 16 points...

Our defensive adjustments are pretty solid.
Coaching on that side is very good.
Will Friend as a coach and JG as " Starting" QB are still the weaknesses.

Crouch will get to focus on defense because we have Whitehead 6'2 230 and Hodge 6'1" 230 at RB now.

We were not just incrediibly lucky. Reality is we made sooooo many mistakes and penalties in clutch moments that we should not have. We were the better team on the field last night (by a little) but just werent in sync. When JG is off, EVERYBODY is OFF. For some reason he NEEDS to ride the pine for a minute before he can right himself. Maurer is fearless and fast, yes, but also feels like he needs to force it. He alllllmost made another 2 pics.

It wasn't the last five minutes, but his entire game plan. Pruitt was 0-10 when behind in the third quarter, he is now 1-10. I believe he planned the entire thing, the old rope-a-dope. After we whip Oklahoma's butts, in Norman, the SEC will be ours, I'm smelling a NATY. I hope we give CJP a huge raise, and extension, as one of the other schools will be calling him, (non- stop) with some sweet offers. It is time to pony up some big $$$$.
