As soon as I saw him say that, I knew the whining would start. God forbid anyone pick against an SEC team.....much less UT.

I've had an abiding disdain for Kirkstreit for decades.
He's done nothing in all that time to alter my opinion and doubtless ever will.

To me, Its really up to two things: (1) How does JG play and (2) can we protect the ball and avoid turnovers.
Very much this. I think its gonna come down to our Secondary and our QB play. I am much more worried about the secondary than our Offense, I honestly think the only way we lose is if we are waaaay behind in first half because if we are ahead or worse for them the game is close at the Half JJ is coming off that bench angry.

Herbie is right, they can certainly score. I would not be surprised if IU leads at the half. That said our adjustments on D have been money this year. We win it in the second half, and JJ gets it going. Don't mess with the big dog! Woof!

What loss? Against Clemson?

LOL the butthurt from some on here about someone predicting the winner of the game is the height of weakness.

Someone queue up the Dark Sith gif.

I watched it live. He actually picked the Vols and switched because both of the other hosts picked UT. Paraphrasing but..."since you 2 picked UT I'll keep it interesting and take IU. Hopefully they have the graphic for me because I told the staff Tennessee."

Gameday staple doesn't like the vols in the game tonight.

Hope we prove them wrong.

The Big 10 has been over-hyped since WWII and it's gotten worse thanks to ESPN's College Gameday. Each member of their team of co-hosts (Corso, Herbstreit, and Howard) spent most of their playing/coaching years in the Big 10, so it comes as no surprise they hype the Big 10.

Herbstreit is the best in the biz. Anyone who thinks he's a Big 10 homer isn't paying attention. I hope he's wrong, but if he picked Indiana it's because he thinks they're more likely to win. And that doesn't hurt my feelings.
He's usually pretty vocal and supportive of Vols...maybe because he lives in Nashville and doesn't want grief. Maybe he's been burned too many times this year where he liked us. We've got plenty of speed to shut down the edges...I'm more worried about which offense team shows up.

Agree, I don't think IU matches up well with us at all, as long as we don't have any self inflected stuff (turnovers, penalties) I think that we should win by 7-10 points.

IU's secondary, in particular, doesn't match up well with our WRs. That's why losing Jennings for the 1st half is so big IMO.

We still might have the advantage without Jennings, but it'll be less dramatic. We'll have to see if Callaway and Palmer can still make some big plays w/o Jennings on the field.

As well as our D has played, I think Indiana will get its share of points against us. We can't flop on offense and expect to win the game, so we've got to find a way to generate plays both w/ and w/o Jennings.

IU is #2 in offense in the B10, better than the Gophers who hung it on AU, the Badgers, and PSU, I too think if we overlook their offensive fire power we can be in trouble. They will score points unless our defense takes an attitude like they did against MSU.
Our offense should have a field day because even Northwestern is better in the B10 on defense, of course as stated above, if our offense decides to goof around we'll be in for a long night.

From what I've seen, their secondary looks pretty suspect. I hope JG can get the ball to our receivers. IU seems to dial up pressure quite a bit.

Good opportunity for DWA to have a big game as well. IU defense struggles to cover the TE's from what I've seen.

I agree but I think they get most of their points in the 1st half. Our halftime adjustments on defense have been on point in recent games.

DWA as well.

Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin lost their bowl games. With the exception of Minnesota, the upper crust of the big 10 hasn’t fared well. Maybe he’s just throwing them a bone. A better prediction comes from me. Vols by two touchdowns.
