The 9-2-1 Vols traveled to Atlanta to play 8-3 Indiana in the Peach Bowl. Behind two TD passes by Jeff Francis, the Vols jumped out to a quick 21-3 lead. Indiana rallied in the second half to take a 22-21 lead, but late in the game, the Vols marched down the field and scored when Reggie Cobb bruised his way in for a 9 yrd touchdown. On the ensuing drive for the Hoosier’s, Charles Kimbrough’s interception sealed the Vols victory, 27-22.
Jeff Francis was 20-26 for 225 yrds and 2TDs, while Reggie Cobb had 146 yrds rushing and 2TDs of his own.
