Also he worked with Frank Wilson at UTSA so maybe there’s some pull there for the RB coach position?

Dan is a good coach and they have some good players coming in but they are going to take a step back.

That defense and receiving group we're stacked. He will probably keep the offense playing at a fairly high level but they will be an 8 or 9 win team next year.

They'll go 8-4. Mehlen will never get close to beating Pruitt again, Norvell will never lose to him, and they'll get blown out by LSU and Georgia

I also hate Florida. But I can make a sacrifice to go for an SEC school over any other conference during bowl games.

Why? In what way does it help UT for those teams to win? I'd argue other SEC schools are who we compete head to head with in recruiting. Them losing is good for us as it negatively impacts the momentum of their program which can help us land better players and beat them on the field.

The idea that we get more of a bump in recruiting from being part of the best conference then we get help from them losing just seems off. Or that we should be more worried about some hypothetical future 1-loss UT team missing the playoffs than we should be over the momentum UGA or UF get from a win doesn't make sense.

I'll keep rooting against them. It's think it's better for UT and I know it's better for my soul.

Keep yapping Dan. This was the peak of your program. You lose most of the top contributors and are gonna take a major step back.

Better get that Sam's Club giant container of lube for Megan. She is gonna have to work overtime to recruit some replacements.

I wish that this was true - the first part anyway. But, there is little doubt he is an excellent coach. I think JCP will lead us where we want to go, but Florida will continue to be a tough game for us.

So is Bo Davis thought to be more highly regarded than say Tosh Lupoi in terms of additions to our staff? I’ve seen what-ifs on Tosh over the last couple of weeks but nothing on Davis. I know Tosh is considered a top-notch recruiter and Bama has had some nasty DLines under Davis...
