Read the article. He’s not wrong.

LSU vs Memphis would have been pointless.

Clemson or Ohio St playing the likes of Baylor???? Or Oregon?

Pass.

Expanded playoffs will make it where kids don't think they have to go to one of five or six schools to have a chance at a title. It is the future you have to look at to see the real value of the eight team playoff...not the right now.

Why are you guys so against more football? That is so dang weird to me.

With Expansion im afraid you will see more games like the OU vs LSU games. Even with 8 who are the other 4 this year and out of those who actually has a chance

If all you want is “more” football, than sure. If you want “better” football, 8 teams is clearly not the answer.

And that “5 or 6 schools” excuse is so played out and flat out wrong.
5 or 6 schools are not gobbling up all the 5Stars and Top100 players....

I ain't giving that piece of trash a click, and I don't have to read his trash to know exactly what his stupid points are going to be..the same stupid points you and others want to rehash for the 10 millionth time on here..

Imma save the board...Not gonna do it.

The expanded playoffs will happen, and there ain't a dern thing you can do to stop it...so you might as well get used to the idea, and quit bitchin about it.

And of course it will happen. There is more money to be made. And that’s the ONLY reason it will happen.

Won’t be because of “better” football.

Hey man you raise a great point. I was disagreeing with you until this post. The current system does create an elitist recruiting advantage for the schools that get in regularly. So P5 champs get an auto bid with 2 at large and 1 G5 champ sound good?

Great..... LSU vs Memphis. WooHoo....

If it has to be 8. It should be BEST 8. No auto bids for anyone.

The problem, imo, is not every season plays out like this. All kinds of scenarios where an expanded playoff would be beneficial. Pointing at one season and acting as if it provides definitive reason is idiotic.
Then you didn’t read the article. Idiotic to post on something you haven’t read.

It’s not about “this” year. 9 of 11 semi-final games have been blowouts.

Happens year, after year, after year, after year....

But yea, more teams... that’s the ticket!

I hate when people on espn try to spew this BS (keep it at 4), but as soon as we have season where 5 or 6 team could win it, they are speechless

I think people have already said what it's about, couple that with what he already believes it says. @Ulysees E. McGill has a point.

And 8 team playoff here we come. And i believe this will benefit UT one day when we are really good but dont win the sec, we still get in

I don’t entirely have a problem with that. You’d have to win your way in and you get a 6 team tournament where the 1 and 2 seeds get a first round bye.

Used to be whoever finished the season ranked No. 1 was the champion but everybody wanted it to be won on the field so it became 1and 2 playing for it.

The main reason for a 4 team system is to eliminate the arguments over who got snubbed for the two championship game slots. With a 6-team slate, if you can’t win your way in you can’t legitimately argue that you should be playing for the championship, and the two teams who seed 1 and 2 get rewarded but still have to earn it.

1. As a fb fan period, I enjoy parity.
2. The last thing I want to see is Bama part 2. The more the names alternate, the better
3. Clemson has hurt us more in recruiting and I would love to see them slip back down a little. My TN fandom trumps my hate for anyone, even OSU.
1. Yes
2. Yes, but I have hated OSU, MI, ND, USC, and their media followers for too long.
3. Yes, and I hope LSU gives them that slip back down by a lot. Think this helps TN more so my fandom is safe. Would have been happier if neither OSU or Clemson made the PO.

Too much separation between the good teams and the elite teams in CFB. There are typically 2 to 3 teams each year that can win a NC... occassionally there may be 4, but never more than that. No need to expand the Playoffs to accommodate a few extra blowouts.
Unless you think that is the only way to keep it from being 4 to 6 teams that have a shot from now on because all the good players will continue to go to those same schools in order to have a chance at the PO. Sure at the beginning of an expansion there would be some blowouts, but that parity we long for would eventually have better odds than now.

It would be at first because all if the best athletes have went to very few schools. That will continue, and probably get worse, with only 4 teams getting in.

I don't believe in selling God has favorites in CFB. The fact that Dabo seems to do so makes me question his actual conviction.

Urban Meyer did the same thing and I hated it then as well.
It’s hilarious that anyone actually believes God cares about the result of a football game. The only winning and losing He cares about is each player’s salvation.
