What happened to Savion Williams?

His playing time decreased throughout the year, guys like Blakely and Garland passed him by. I thought Greg Emerson was playing really well at nose and wished he’d played more at the end of the year. Should be a great line next year, lots of depth and competition

Yeah, I really thought we'd see more of him as thin up font like we were and injuries to boot. Hope this off season serves him well

He will be fine, some players need a year or 2.
How do you know he will be fine? No difference in saying he is a bust versus he will be fine. Difference is that we don't know. You don't bring in JUCO's to sit the bench, see Middleton.

Middleton arrived at the right size. Williams has to get there. Should get more snaps this season. Juco’s are bodies with potential...you recruit those.

He just wasn't good enough to stay on the field this year. Hopefully moving forward he will be able to help.

Yeah, there was a lot of hype around here @ him. But, when I saw him on the field he looked about 6'1" 250 playing DT. Just didn't look very big and not as athletic as an undersized guy would have to be.

Amiwrong?

Williams is very athletic for his size and it's why he dominated JUCO. When he got here his conditioning was near what it needed to be to be effective in the SEC. He is also one that has to learn his role and how that fits in the overall defense. You can win individual battles, but if you lose gap responsibility, or don't fill particular passing lanes the team gets burnt for big plays. There is no room for freelancing in Pruitt and Ansley's defenses.

From what I saw he held his own when he was in. Emerson and Middleton took big steps forward along with Blakely Garland. I think his lack of snaps was more about how much better they got and not how he played.
This^ Lot in front of him! I think he’s in the rotation this coming season and there will be plenty of snaps to be had.
