I am not Pentecostal. But what I stated is not False. You our welcome for yourself to study. Christmas is man made holiday. All I am doing is wanting to put into perspective why we celebrate in this world Christmas.

It's hard to know for sure due in part to the Georgian & Julian calendar mess. But even before then the best thing available was guessing based on the season in which the shepherds and the magi visit that, plus the historical account of Herod's baby-killing (a pit of mass buried infants - 3-year-olds was actually found and roughly dated), no precise date is known. No matter, bowl season is here so perhaps that's MC enough for a lot of folks.

Nope, debate isn't about the meaning, it's about the real birthdate of Jesus as opposed to the alternate facts version.

I get it, both sides. That said, many don't, nor do they celebrate with intention of honoring a pagan tradition. They do it out of sincerity for what they believe is the birth of Christ.

I suppose then that Thomas Gray is correct: Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise. I always knew Gray's and Orwell's contradictory claims exhibiting being right by being wrong were strokes of brilliance.

I hear you, joevol. I also have heard over decades when presented with a truth that people don't want to hear, they prefer what is false. So we have those who uniformed but truly sincere and those who are ignorant by choice thus not sincere. I call it the alternate facts syndrome. All that aside, Happy Holidays cause this world certainly needs some happy something.

I agree with you that those who celebrate Christmas and Easter do not do so in honoring pagan tradition. I even understand why most do celebrate. But there is nothing wrong pointing out the Truth behind these two days. We as the Church of Christ will not gather for special Christmas Eve Communion service. No problem with gathering with Family Friends eating and giving as to me Christmas is Thanksgiving on Steroids.
