Where are my software muscles and what exercises do I do to train them?

Between your ears & in your index finger (at least in my line of work).

I am pretty capable when it comes to learning new software though, I've self-taught quite a few from forums/tutorials and video lessons. So usually when the need arises for someone to learn something at work I am in the class. It's just frustrating because there's a big age gap in my field so you got basically two sets of workers. Those that should have retired and those that got a few decades to go....

Those that should have retired like to ask a lot of questions and make comments during training classes, beyond annoying week. But the software is pretty good and the trainer did a great job relaying it, so I was able to finish early and leave.

I don’t know. It isn’t just receiver. We’re struggling at WR, RB, DL, and edge rusher. I don’t know why we’re having such a difficult time, especially when we have so much opportunity to sell at every position except DL. Playing time is available, we finished the season strong, and the struggle persists.

Hang on posiBass

Agreed on all accounts, however, new, young coaches are usually able to recruit really well once they start winning. We haven’t been able to do that to this point.

I don’t know. We might be following the Barnes tactic of laying a foundation of hard work with “good guys” but that only worked for Barnes because he won at an extremely high level a year early. Also think it’s easier to be picky on a basketball roster.

I say all this to say I don’t think football recruiting has been bad - it’s been average for us historically as a program and I think statistically a little bit better than what Dooley or Butch did here (minus Butch’s one great class.)

I don’t know. I’ve said this before but I thought Pruitt would recruit like Kiffin did here. That style had it’s obvious drawbacks but we were getting elite talent.
Pruitt would be killing Kiffins class if he didn't have the extra 10 years of black hole suck to sell. That is why it is hard right now...period. There will be no chicken before the egg for us..it just won't. We have to be patient and quit f'n bitching at our staff..they will get it done.

Build it and they will come.

Wish we coulda pulled the Gatewood QB from Auburn who is now going to KY... he is good/legit. He will give us fits for the next few years....

Here’s a couple of screen shots of the Vandy player talking to a Tennessee player after the game (look behind Gray).

Edit: says file to large to upload. Player is #11 - he has a hyphenated last name. You can see him behind Gray during the post game interview. He doesn’t appear to have any wounds on his head/forehead
That thread is dumb. JJ stepped on his head. It was a mistake. He has been penalized. Quit trying to make excuses for poor judgement. (Not you Bob, but the poster.)

If Calloway sticks at WR then yes, but we definitely need 1-2 more. We needed a guy to be able to contribute early, maybe one of them can. If we get Holiday I’ll be excited about his potential, tho it wouldn’t surprise me if he sticks at QB. He is electric.

Why is atm killing it at receiver? Weird
Not really worried about WR for next year. And our offense has not inspired much excitement for recruits outside of the Missouri game. You have talked about how JG makes you feel. Probably the same for recruits with our offense. I am really excited for JH and like the potential of Calloway. Get the QB that may end up WR, and that is a really good class until next year.

Have to admit I am a bit surprised that we aren't hear more positive buzz in recruiting... AtlVol seemed to convey things were going to heat up and get crazy and I haven't heard a peep. I know the staff has been out on the road, so hopefully it pays dividends because we gotta close strong. Really good story to tell and show of our season and what happens when you ALL buy in... should quell negative recruiting except for the talk of Pruitt will move you from offense to defense... that his a legit concern he is probably having to explain on the road...

What Dallas needs is a coach that is strong enough to tell the owner to go to hell and keep out of his locker room
I get it but The Jones’ Have built a damn good roster. It’s been for sure top 10 if not too 5 the last few years.

I think if there wasn’t an early signing period it would be better. Teams like us that have a late surge don’t really have enough time for that “look at me” period. Most people already know pretty much where they going.

Stephen has. But he still can't keep Jerry's hands off the coaching choices. Garrett should've never been promoted much less kept for 10 years. We all know why he's still there. He makes a solid puppet.

Our biggest setback in retrospect was the Birmingham officials stealing the bammer game. Imagine if they hadn't...

Edit: I'm all for looking forward. But it was so obvious and CJP's relation to lil nickie was on the line. SEC intervened. But not for long...
I still believe that game and those calls are what galvanized Pruitt as a Vol. He seemed to have more passion and fire for the orange after that game.

Or perhaps I am delusional and seeing ghosts and other things that really are not there. I don’t know...
