Our QB room will be the best in the SEC

Any interest in getting back into recruiting?

Oh no lol.
Time is the most precious resource. Recruiting is non-stop, even for subsidiary firms that employed me.

I work for myself now. Right now my commitment is to helping the wife learn similar skills. She already knows 4 languages and is now learning a 5th. Language apps are really a blessing.

Football is my passion and I want to keep it pure. Just for enjoyment. @Freak has a great thing here in Volnation, and sometimes it really does allow me to escape and just have fun and not feel guilty about it lol.

Sounds good! If you know of any former athletes hunting something to do out that way we're always looking. I'd like to learn another language just don't have the patience and I've forgotten all my Spanish from HS except for a few of the cuss words!

I think he just had a bad start to the game...for whatever reason. It also looked like the receivers weren't getting much separation (Vandy DBs were grabbing jerseys and holding on) and the o-line was even allowing pressure on JG. The entire offense looked off. Thank goodness for Gray and the o-line showing up in the run game. After the 0/7 start, JG went 6/10 the rest of the way and looked closer to what we had seen the previous three games. I think by the time he settled in and played better, there just wasn't a good reason to throw the ball in the rain unless they absolutely had to.

I'm encouraged by his play and look forward to seeing if he continues to progress. I think being under Chaney for a second year will be big. Ultimately, I think he either takes a big step forward with his consistency and confidence over the Spring or gets passed by Maurer or Bailey. I don't see the coaches going with him if he continues to be inconsistent and they have two very talented and confident young guys wanting to play.
I agree with you too. What would we have had if he had gone 5/7 or 4/7 to start? Maybe another 7? They all looked off except for Gray. When did JG develop that little shoulder shake he was doing? That seemed to help break some guys open too.

Hahaha understandable.!
Mastering or becoming good at anything requires proper motivation. English is the most important language in the realm of making money.
I've traveled to 20 different countries alone and spoke the language but I'm only 50% + efficient in 3. Have bits and pieces of 5 other languages.

As far as jobs they're everywhere out here in California. Good paying ones. Nothing wrong with a regular 9-5.

What do you use? Hablo un poco de Espanol pero no mucho esta bien.

Esta bien senior. Well, there's regular ole google translate. Duolingo is pretty decent.

I suggest if you want to learn faster, then join an online community of people wanting to learn English in exchange for you learning their language. 100s of them.

I've traveled the world and been able to practice, but I live in a an American city that has dozens of languages spoken in it.

JT has plenty of ability and there are plenty of teams who need a QB. A log jam at QB means someone’s going to be out.
Agree, somebody will leave. Needs to be the guy with the least amount of upside and most amount of baggage imo. That’s JG. Thank him and wish him well at his new home and go develop the younger, more talented QBs in the program. Jmo.

I moved from a town last year that had a significant Hispanic population. The town I live in now is exclusively English... sort of. J/K. Great Midwest farm folk.

Both BM and JG in 3 games vs ranked opponents

JG. 18/38 176 yards 0 tds 2 ints and 4.6 ypa

BM 23/36 365 yards 2 tds 3 ints 7.9 ypa

Same 3 teams. And BM was more effective.
This shows his upside.... but he had some stinker plays even in those games. Again, a Freshman with good upside who didn't have the benefit of being the off-season or exclusive in-season focus of the staff. He did fine.

I’m no stat junkie but I gotta give you credit. That’s an impressive stat for one reason. It discredits EVERYTHING k-town is trying to say about him and his accuracy.

I hate to burst your bubble but I could care less what services rank who and how high. Tee's not on there because they didn't do this stupid .9999 horse hockey back then.
I can see you don't care what people think who rank prospects for a living. That's your prerogative. It supports my position. It does not support yours. It seems your position is based primarily on what you read on Tennessee message boards. Crompton and Clausen were every bit as hyped as Bailey, and ranked higher by the experts. There is little or nothing to support your assertion that he is the most highly touted QB prospect to commit to UT since Peyton. It really doesn't matter, though. I'm glad he's committed to the Vols. I just don't like seeing unrealistic expectations heaped on a kid coming out of high school. It hurt Crompton. It hurt JG.

Bailey is not the most acclaimed QB recruit since Peyton. Clausen was ranked the #2 overall QB in America. Crompton was #2 or #3, as well. Heck, Guarantano was ranked the #2 dual threat in America.
This proof that HS rankings don't always turn into NCAA capabilities....

If Bailey actually comes to UT-I don't see him starting his Fresh year. Peyton wouldn't have played his Fresh year had it not been for injuries (or at least as soon as he did), the transition from HS (even a tough football HS) to SEC play isn't a baby step. I don't believe we'll have all these guys, some will either transfer, or not come at all. I know JG doesn't care one bit if he starts or not (so he says) but the other guys, at the competitive type, don't want to be warming the bench. IMHO, we don't need QB's that don't care-I want the starting QB to care and care a lot, his desire to excel and win can carry a team, his I don't care can harm a team...

Why would any of those guys do that? BM and JS have to sit out a year if they transfer and they don't even know if anyone is interested in having them. Tennessee will immediately drop any of them if they go into the portal so if they go in now they'd have no clue what their future holds, if they stay through spring at least they will know where they stand in Knoxville. JG would be the only one other schools would make a play on as BM and JS have shown nothing as to why a team would want them to come and be their starter 2 seasons from now in '21.

Respectfully disagree - JG would draw some attention, same for JS. BM has much greater upside...I keep hearing that BUTCH JONES is telling friends that he will land HC job at either TULANE or CINCY and that he expects JG to be his QB.

That is dumb. If you have a fourth year starter who is playing well you don't wish for a backup or true freshman to come in.

If anything you need the veteran leadership at qb while the other guys develop. You don't want a young qb if your rbs and wrs are inexperienced.

Makes no sense.

People should be praying he comes back and continues to play well. That is the best chance to win the most games.

ARE YOU SAYING JG PLAYED WELL VS. VU? PRUITT BENCHED BM AT KENTUCKY AFTER HE HAD THROWN 7 COMPLETIONS (WITH 4 DROPS) FOR 115 YARDS IN 2ND QUARTER ALONE...WHY DID HE NOT GIVE MAURER A SHOT AFTER JG WAS 2-13 IN FIRST HALF? MY GUESS IS PRUITT IS TOTALLY ENAMORED BY JG's IMPRESSIVE 'TOUGHNESS'- AND, LORD KNOWS, THE HC THRIVES ON 'TOUGHNESS'...PRUITT HAS PROTECTED JG FOR 2 SEASONS NOW- NOT LIKELY TO CHANGE ANYTIME SOON...LOOK BACK AT SPRING GAME - JG STARTS OFF 1-8 SO PRUITT TAKES BOTH STARTING Cbs OUT AND REPLACES THEM WITH 2 NON-ROSTER WHITE GUYS...JG THROWS 4 TDs TO WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS AND WINS MVP AWARD...BM STARTED 7-7 AND WAS PULLED SO THAT JG COULD WORK ON 2-MINUTE OFFENSE...BM CERTAINLY NEEDS THE REPS - NOT SURE HOW YOU EXPLAIN TO BM AND HIS PARENTS...GBO.

I pray he goes with butch jones. I have been looking at his completions and about 40% of his completeions go for 4 yards or less...that plus i found the top 250 QBs all time in air yards avg( distance ball in the air beyond the los) the list syop at 7 yards. Amd JG wasnt on thr list. That screams check down king

At this point, JG understands and manages the run game better than BM. UT had a lead. The run game was producing. There was no good reason to go to BM at that point. Pruitt likes "known" quantities. JG has been a practice warrior. He has far more experience. He understands the college game more. He has a better grasp of the O. I like Maurer but he's a Fr... and Pruitt's job is to build a winning program, not to justify himself to anyone's momma.

The UK game was a different scenario. UK had gotten a lead and was dictating the pace of the game. Maurer was not playing well. He wasn't making good decisions and unlike his previous outings he looked tentative... hesitant.

I have been critical of JG. Unlike a lot of his former critics, it will take more than 2 or 3 games to convince me he's completely turned the corner. But USCe, UK, and MU at least gave me "hope" again that he could become a good QB. His Vandy performance... has increased my doubt again.

I have generally defended BM. One reason is that I liked his aggressive style. That's why his UK performance makes me pause. He's a Fr. If he doesn't lose his confidence and is coached up, I think his ceiling is higher than JG's. But JG has a head start and has experience that is meaningful.
