I too have always thought that was the stupidest argument the anti-playoff crowd makes considering ever division but D1 has one..

Just say you don't like it because of tradition or whatever..nothing wrong with that, I disagree with it, but I respect it.

I have ALWAYS hated that there was no playoffs, and while four teams is better than none...it is not enough. I think 16 is too many. The conference champs already serve that purpose...

Eight is perfect imo...
Yep. I also think it's weird how in pretty much every other sport people love an underdog story. College basketball would be awful without the inevitable Cinderella run every year. But god forbid a non power get a chance to make a run in college football. I just don't get it from a fan perspective. I get why the conferences push the narrative, they want to keep all the money in the p5 and allowing g5 in the playoffs takes a lot of money out of p5 pockets. But it's always been weird to me that fans have completely different views between college football and basketball.

Carvin is a starting G next season with Kennedy coming back. As HoleInTheRoof posted, he had quite the night and has really come on in the second half. Locklear has Richmond Disease, so let's move on from him. Overall they've got maulers up front. Trey Smith - wow. With some of the formations they announce they are going to cram it down your throat and you will not stop it. Some great counter and trap block scheming by Chaney. Old school kick azz. Many games are won with strong O-lines and TOP.

JG may be a QB who simply cannot grip the ball well in wet weather. Like Vandy's. So they did it in a safer way that led to the break out by Gray, which was awesome. Chaney saw some more of what to work on with JG, but JG did not stop competing.

Good to see DWA get some valuable use and perform well. He did some quality blocking as well. JJ wanted the ball on senior night against a nemesis. When he didn't get it much he got even more agitated. He will get "counseled" in the NFL to channel it. Callaway remained the consummate professional he is. Palmer will be like Callaway next season.

CJP/Ansley devised D schemes this season that were more 'bend don't break'. Probably due to a lack of depth more than a lack of playmakers. It gets irritating to watch at times, but has worked. When you do that you lose TOP in many games and in truth, TOP is not as big of deal with all of the wide open O's there are today. My point is I saw Louisville attempt to do the same thing we did against UK. Bad decision since they do not have our type players on D. They honored the receivers with too many defenders against a team with a crap passing attack. We have been doing the same thing at times. Maybe it's intentional and they are developing players during games. I hope that is it, however, it does kill TOP and Chaney gets less possessions to score the ball. I just hate seeing a horrible Vandy O and other one dimensional opponent O's holding the ball that many snaps.
A wet ball is not the reason he throws into double and triple coverage. It may be a cause of throwing behind the receivers or into the ground.

Temple is better than 90% of Clemson's schedule.
I can't really argue with that..but it is an irrelevant point. Clemson is 1A or 1B best team no matter who or where they play. Either them or OSU are winning the title this. It is crazy that the one year LSU has a monster, unstoppable offense, that their defense, which has always been at worst above average..is pure garbage. They will not win the NC with that defense barring an off night by Lawrence or Fields.

If this was your normal LSU defense they would beat the livin crap out of either of those teams.

I don't know who the 4th in is going to be..but they are going to get mauledvwhoever it is.

started 1-4 and ended 7-5... clearly, something changed for the better and everyone bought in. I believe we have our coach and our team is coming together, fighting until the end.

will seriously miss Callaway, Bituli, and JJ next season.... I won't even mention to O lineman because I don't want him to leave...

I believe we will be in a much better situation next season and moving forward with our QB's.... whether it is Hill, Bailey, Maurer out of the weight room, or by a miracle JG improves-- either way our options dramatically improve

MUST get a DL, LB, and at least instant impact WR in this class minimum...

Hopefully recruiting spikes and we finish strong like AtlVol indicated, because right now I am not getting the feels and don't understand why we aren't getting more Buzz!?

Teams just do not get many big plays against us anymore..I agree it is frustrating, but it is extremely effective...

Interesting everyone always blames the bama kickers and wonders why savanna can recruit kickers.... maybe the problem is who he chooses to be the holder

If they had uk's schedule they would
The only team Clemson played this year that won at least 8 games was wake forest. If g5 schools can't get in because of their schedule then Clemson shouldn't get in.

Clemson schedule. This is the sacred regular season we need to preserve. Nobody on this schedule finished the season ranked. Not even in fcs rankings. Only 1 of their games was worth watching.

I love JJ15 but it’s not a good look for him or the Vols. It’s already on ESPN.com we’ll be lucky if he doesn’t get suspended by the league.

Pickens literally grabbed a dude’s face mask and slammed him into the wall. Do we really think JJ purposely did that?!

And people say 8 team playoff will water down the regular season, NO IT WONT. having a schedule like this waters down the regular season...

Do you really think that any of those G5 teams are on Clemson's level?

I think we actually have a really nice DL rotation coming back. Gibbs I think will yep the WR drop off.

Got some young LBs I’m hopeful will develop.

Key to this class is Harrison bailey. If he is what he’s supposed to be special days are ahead

fortunately he has a year to RS, bc we have a SR qb.

Yep you are right but we seriously need some depth at DL and LB.... some forget we will have Gooden back on the DL which will be huge and Gibbs should be great with another offseason to develop.

I think Clemson should be in the playoffs if they win next game. That wasn't the point of my post. My post was about moving goalposts on arguments for who doesn't deserve to get in giving them a free pass. And about not expanding to preserve the precious regular season. Who knows if they're better than those g5 schools though? They haven't played a single team that is that good yet. They almost lost to a crap unc team.

On the long EG run, did anyone notice #85...Tillman? Bust his ass for 95 yards to keep the defenders from catching EG?
He actually blocked two different Andy players. He went and chipped one guy and then caught up to the other. Very impressed. His speed was impressive. EG is fast and he was catching him like nothing.
