The Impeachment Thread

So why didn’t Barry provide lethal aid instead of encouraging words of support? You’re right that is some weak ass deflection
There were certain corrupt elements of Ukraine that needed taken care of first.

Good question worth discussing. What did Obama say at the time? because I do remember thinking we should but we didn't.

This comment is too stupid to properly respond to without tripping a moderator warning.
This is what we are dealing with in 2020 and beyond. Unfortunately they reproduce at a greater rate than us currently. Get some wine, candles, poke a hole in the rubbers and rock the bonobo station on pandora tonight gents.

I’d wager it predates the political awareness of anybody on this forum.
It’s the only republican party anybody here has known. I don’t think we have any octogenarians on here.

Republican governor Ronald Reagan signed the California Therapeutic Abortion Act, one of the most liberal abortion laws in the country, in 1967, legalizing abortion for women whose mental or physical health would be impaired by pregnancy, or whose pregnancies were the result of rape or incest. The same year, the Republican strongholds of North Carolina and Colorado made it easier for women to obtain abortions. New York, under Governor Nelson Rockefeller, a Republican, eliminated all restrictions on women seeking to terminate pregnancies up to twenty-four weeks gestation. (Reversing Roe shows young women in Dallas boarding airplanes headed to these states.) Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater, Gerald Ford, and George H.W. Bush were all pro-choice"

White House backs full Senate trial if House impeaches Trump

Looks like the WH is on board with a full Senate trial. Call in all sorts of people including Hunter, WB, Schiff, whoever. Nancy, lets get this thing started already as the American people deserve to know.
I'm glad to see the WH is on board. Of course they don't have an alternative unless the President wants to go ahead and resign.

I'm also glad Justice Roberts will be in charge. I imagine he will keep pretty strict order.

I'm glad he's in charge too. After his complete failure in his head of FISA duties he's got some penance to pay back to we the people. This may be the deal he cut to make it right.

no. One piece at a time.

Has that been proven or not?

Just that. Nothing else. Was there an effort to exert leverage to get investigations? Not asking about aid etc.
Then no. Investigations have not been done and the leverage you believe was used was released. You are wanting to take one step at a time while starting on step 5 or whatever number that is certainly not step 1. How can you skip right past defining the leverage?

Didn’t the Republicans control the House and the Senate under Obama? Yes they did. Why weren’t they jumping up and down at that time to send more than the blankets they are now trying to ridicule and paint Dotsrd as the Ukraine savior when in fact he is trying to reassign the Russian meddling of 2016 election to Ukraine

Many of you act as Russian operatives. Why not take your guns and move there. Good riddance. I’ll be laughing my ass of when your guns are confiscated upon your arrival
Can you point to the lethal aid package that the House and Senate denied Obama that he wanted to send?

I cannot believe that Schiff has been able to make such an ass of the Democratic Party.

The party has always operated with an admirable amount of discipline, but Trump has apparently driven them to make reckless decisions.

LOL at their impeachment “evidence”. The desperation must be real.

I do not remember Obama’s admin proposing any lethal and I thought it was ridiculous. Not a specific attack on him. Just a piss poor decision for any admin to not make.

The same way they skip 540 words in the call transcript and come to the same conclusion.

it really is at a “WTF do they think they’re doing?” Moment.

With 50 Repub Senators on board, they could just dismiss. The 6 Dem Senators currently running for President better start blocking their early year schedule.

I did a web search. The Obama admin specifically didn’t want to provide lethal aid as best I can tell they were worried about causing escalation? I’m admittedly inferring here.

But I did find a WaPo Op-Ed article by an Obama appointee outlining why providing lethal aid to Ukraine was a bad idea. The author? Fiona Hill

Wow how am I not surprised. This discussion has turned into....."but but....obama....."

Trump is corrupt. He doesnt give a **** about anything but getting reelected. He will use whatever he can to help him. He invited Russian interference and willingly used it and now has invited Ukrainian interference.

Things were different in Ukraine when Obama was in office. Their administration being corrupt being the most glaring. The whole reason we are helping Ukraine is because they have a newly elected President who is anti-corruption.

This is what's called grasping at straws. Deflection.

Of course it was different then. I mean Obama is a black guy after all. His mountains of corruption is just whitey being racist.

RE: why wasn’t the GOP screeching at Obama about not providing lethal aid. And it wasn’t just the GOP, it was bipartisan 😂

John Boehner rips Obama’s military aid to Ukraine as weak
