This has been Chaneys go to play call especially in the Redzone and he’s been creative about disguising it.

Jennings has been running these double moves that turn into inside verts. Caught one for TD vs SC, was open for a TD for one vs UAB. Here are the two plays diagramed:

This is the one vs SC. We had been dragging him in this four verticals plays all day so it was a great time to use this.

I really like this next design that we did vs UAB. We went 13 personnel (which i don’t think we should ever get out of). Motion the RB to show man with a small pump screen. We also stacked Pope and Jennings, they do a cross release where Jennings starts his route under pope. so they can’t press or jam at that point. Jennings does an out and up and is open but ball is just late.

So *PREDICTION TIME*

Jennings is going to score off a outside variation of this play vs Uk where he will either run a squirrel route (3 moves, If pass pro holds up, will go out, up, and out... probably over top of a short out or hook for a Hi/Low action)

Or
We could run a Shock concept where he’s going corner route over top of short ins or outs like this.

Take it to the bank.
This is the sort of material I am glad to pay Frank his 9.98 a month for.

Would love to see that last one

Honestly, FSU hiring Deion isn't that different than Memphis bringing Penny in. Deion has been around the high school game with his Primetime Academy in Texas. You'd think he'd be able to recruit at a high level. so all he would need is a veteran staff to guide him through the process. I definitely think it would be a dumb hire when you consider the other possibilities, (How they aren't knocking Norvell's door down blows my mind) but I wonder if higher level coaches are afraid of the expectations to win with Clemson looming and a weak roster. I don't know how interested I would be in a school who fires a coach halfway into his 2nd season.

He did that beforehand. Buyouts are based on currently inflated value. No performance clause. Otherwise a buyout would have no point.

I'll just say coaches have all gained far too much leverage with all the money floating around these days. It's crazy.

My comments were just my opinion on it. No legal Mumbo jumbo was intended

We started the season 0-2 with a terrible loss, then we were 1-4 by the first week of October. We lost all the momentum at that point. It just makes us look like a bad option to many recruits.
Yeah it did but I thought surely after the SC game we would be getting some looks from a few big time recruits who wasn't even on our radar. Instead we got a de-committed and another chose Auburn. This year's recruits was going to be a very big part of our getting back to being competitive with the Bama's in 2 years. It is the big year as far as the rebuild is concerned and I am sure Pruitt knows that.

This is an excellent point. Looking at you Will Wade

Fun fact for the day:

Jay Bilas starred along side Dolph Lundgren in the 1990 box office flop “I Come in Peace”. Bilas played an alien cop who was chasing an alien drug dealer that dealt in human endorphins. Dolph Lundgren was caught in the middle of this zany battle for earth’s unknown drug source.

What we don’t know is how much beating South Carolina and Mississippi State matters to elite recruits. It certainly doesn’t hurt, but probably doesn’t move the needle that much.

This “momentum” we have will probably be better sold in the offseason if we’re sitting waiting for the Taxslayer Bowl or whatever.

My guess is a lot of recruits are still in a holding pattern on us because they know, while we’re on the right track, a loss to UK and/or Missouri probably deflates the entire program again.

Bump this post after the game Saturday. I hope I have to eat crow but some of you all are way off on this one. Gonna be a tough one for sure.
Fair enough, we will do that. I'm not saying we blow them out with our injuries we're nursing but I'm definitely not afraid of what Kentucky has. I think we're looking at a final score something to the tune of 23-13 Vols. Kentucky just doesn't have offense right now.

disclaimer.... If #2 plays QB for us the entire game i switch my prediction to 16-13 Vols.

I just thought the win over SC would be a huge boost to our recruiting. I am afraid people are underestimating Ky and I don't know why they would be. I think they get their QB back Saturday and they had the bye week. If we can pull this out hopefully it will put us over the top for Oxedine

Another fun fact, he works in my building and I've been on the elevator several times with him. Okay, maybe that is just a fun fact for me. But my friend worked in the same firm as him and their office doors were apparently opposite each other so every time I'd text her for lunch, I'd tell her to ask Bilas how he's doing today and invite him. She never did.

We didn’t have a slew of de-commits after starting 0-2. The flip side is not expecting a lot of commitments after getting 2 wins over average SEC teams. We have to win out or at least 2 of the next 3 to gain some traction again. Even then the ceiling is probably top 15 finish.

Year 2 is used to show if your coach is elite or not. The general thought these days is to judge on year 3 results just to see if your coach is even viable.

If we get the running game going this week we win. We didn't look good vs UAB in that department last Saturday. Can't do that at Ky.

Yeah, your right on

These last four games are about as crucial as I can remember. Go 2 of 3 you have your bowl. Go 1 for 3 and your a lot of doubt remains. Go 0-3 with a loss at home to Vandy and I think it may be impossible to recover from, long term. Whether Pruitt's seat is actually hit or not, other coaches will have so much negativity to sell, it will devastate recruiting.

On the other hand, win all three and I think recruiting will take off. Win a bowl game and keep the momentum going. It may actually be the upturn to relevance that we've been waiting for.

fairly level headed response. agreed.

They've definitely been playing the "bulletin board" game. Our guys were all over that last year with their ranking etc..

Haven't really heard anything from our side this week other than injury concerns. None of the pregame hype like MS, Bama and SC.
Following the UAB offensive performance and the Hardy letdown, it's gonna be a great time to see where our team is from a maturity stand point.
