'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

What percentage would you put that Rocker and Scherrer are on staff in February? If it’s something you don’t want to discuss in public then I understand. I’m not saying I blame them for this, more just out of personal curiosity.

i don't have any non-speculative answer for that. i think if UT wins out and the d-line continues their upward trajectory, that will carry more weight than missing on this guy. if we start missing on baron, ox, grimes and a bunch more, maybe that tips the scales. pruitt likes recruiters, but on-the-field results will pretty much always trump that, especially in the early years. i do think there are a couple guys (sherrer and friend, specifically) that will have to absolutely **** the bed to get let go, given pruitt's history with them.

No use trashing posters you disagree with. Is this the type of debate people use when they HAVE NO ANSWERS.
But go ahead an pat yourself on the back for any filth and garbage that you can muster up to shut up someone who disagrees with you.
Or maybe you would like to contribute some facts to the debate
Here’s a fact...

I’m sorry I’ve missed out but who is this “coachK55” and how do we know he’s not a troll? Legitimate question. Not being a poop head.
At the moment, he's just a screen name. Very few people know who's behind any name on here and it's probably better that way.

Had a chat with Coach K earlier. From someone who was on those visits, it really sounds like we dropped the ball. All those visits to UT were apparently of Jay's own volition, not because he was being asked and invited all the time. AUB was constantly begging him to come. They also put a major emphasis on academics (Jay wants to be an engineer), we didn't. AUB was just more consistent it sounds like. Rocker is a good coach, but man, he seems to disappear on the trail. Doesn't sound like its over though, so stop trashing the kid for ****s sake.

Beyond that, we have to focus on winning THIS year, and recruiting will work itself out in the long term. Winning fixes everything. Worry about the ones we get, etc etc etc.
Yep..... worry about the ones we get.... not about the ones we don’t....good luck to Jay and hopefully he picks us in the end.

When u talk about these recruits typically you’re looking at a package valued anywhere from 50k-100k for SEC. Some elite recruits will command more. Here’s food for thought: we know we will need $ for a certain elite guy seen around campus recently and we just refused to play the game with the Barn on this kid. Lol trying to make myself feel better maybe
Lol 50k. 😂

Maybe ten years ago.

Kinda disappointed but don’t really even care that much about it. These kids are really just unpredictable. The reason it seems so many of the kids that go to bama (or Clemson) make it has more to do with their program doing a great job of developing and coaching the kids than where they were ranked as recruits. Some of these top 100 kids make it and some don’t. Bama usually gets the no1 ranked class while Clemson’s usually hover right around the top 10 and yet their rosters are really similar. In fact...I’d have to say Clemons has had the best personnel the last few years.
Our best defensive players are Thompson, butile, and To’oto’o. Of those 3 only To’oto’o was a top 100 player. Meanwhile jj Peterson was a top 50 kid and can’t get on the field.
That still boggles the mind about Peterson. These coaches know what a football player looks like, regardless of star ranking, but this one is a head scratcher. I hope he gets it turned around before he leaves.

Dunno, man. Post-visit high? It happens. Kids change their minds. Especially if he felt like he had to chase UTs attention while AUB is showing him love.

My money is on the post-visit high. It'll wear off eventually, he'll be back in touch with his instate friends, tennessee wins out and fixes whatever transgressions hardy might have felt happened, AUB drops two straight, maybe it all works out in the end. who knows? its a marathon, and its a long way until february. anything can happen.
Well I haven't hated on the kid so that part's cool with me, honestly doesn't really even involve me.

I'm sure you don't care, but I'm just stating that the same person gave us all the information that had us excited, now is giving a 180° version, at least on the TN side.
I do believe he's close to him and I also believe that he doesn't want anybody to have hard feelings toward the kid. This new information is convenient for that, which has to make it at least, curious. Think that's more than fair to say.

Agreed, don’t trash the kid. But also, don’t wait around wishing for him, he’s long gone, pull for Omari Thomas and others who can replace him.

Scherrer very likely gone if it comes down to recruiting results, not sure about Rocker. Rocker has done an excellent job with the DL this year, just not a strong recruiter. At the end of the day, recruiting trumps all, so I’ll be curious to see if Rocker returns.
