Just look at it like I did.
Of course certain programs will find ways to gain advantage and even abuse the new setup.
Probably in ways we haven't even dreamed of yet.
But, let's face it, those are most likely the same programs that are taking advantage and abusing the current system.
Different road, same destination.
"Monitor this income"? As compared to the current bagmen situation? It is at least in the open and taxed here. Don't see how it changes things, unless there are caps, which I firmly believe there will be.That is exactly what is going to happen..there is literally zero way to monitor this income..none. I don't understand how people can not see how bad this is...blows my mind
Oh, like I said, we'll hear about things we haven't thought of, lol. This is bad charger...it blows my mind how intelligent people can't see what is going to happen. CFB competition will be no more legit than professional wrasslin.
So no different than currently? We and every other major P5 program rigs the system with bagmen. It has advantaged the big schools since forever. How is this any different? This is bad charger...it blows my mind how intelligent people can't see what is going to happen. CFB competition will be no more legit than professional wrasslin.
Once money gets flowing, the NCAA will not know who has how much and from which it came. That's why they didn't want student athletes to get paid to begin with. Easier to monitor and that was even hard for them to manage. No way they keep it in check now."Monitor this income"? As compared to the current bagmen situation? If the government is paving the way for these kids to be paid they are going to expect to see the tax dollars flowing in. There will be legal ramifications of people aren't reporting their earnings.Once money gets flowing, the NCAA will not know who has how much and from which it came. It will be worse than it is currently. How can you not see this? It is like you are refusing to see the impossibly slippery slope this is going to be. There is no salary cap, no enforcable regulations, and no way to monitor the massive and infinite flows, and no way to enforce anything if it were possible to legitimately monitor it. This is a freakin free for all where the chosen cash cows will literally destroy legitimate competition. So no different than currently? Or are you arguing for the G5s, UCF, Memphis, Cincinattis to gain equity against the P5s? I could get on board with that. P5s game the system wayy too much.
I'm guessing the NCAA will force the schools to keep up with how much each player earns from their "endorsements". The schools may even be required to hold the money in escrow until the player graduates. Then all the tax will be due when the player leaves school.Once money gets flowing, the NCAA will not know who has how much and from which it came. EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY...at least somebody else see this for what it is..Once money gets flowing, the NCAA will not know who has how much and from which it came. I imagine the NCAA will even push for any large deals that needs their logo.Once money gets flowing, the NCAA will not know who has how much and from which it came. Good luck with that..I'm guessing the NCAA will force the schools to keep up with how much each player earns from their "endorsements". The schools may even be required to hold the money in escrow until the player graduates. Then all the tax will be due when the player leaves school.
I can see where the schools known for cheating may even try to pay some players "under the table" to allow them to have the money before graduation and avoid some taxes. This would be when an FBI type investigation busts a bunch of schools/coaches for tax fraud.
Depends, their brackets are very progressive. Great for 99% of SAs. Compare this to, say, NC, with a flat rate of 5.5%. CA wouldn't be bad at all for most. Disadvantageous for the very rare Zion types (if NCAA even allows as such, which I don't think it will).
Regionally, moreso we need GA, AL, etc taxes higher, though even that likely affects only a small number of kids. How many will really even make enough to have to file taxes? .1%? And the few that do, how many will be better off going to the lowest tax districts, rather than the biggest markets? Probably close to zero. Texas and Florida have the most advantages across both factors imo.
Yep...and it will hurt us. We are not one of the "chosen"...if that is not obvious to anybody after the last two weeks officiating...then I don't know what to say. Also...if gambling concerns are involved in fixing now...this opens the door for them to do it even easier.Recruiting is just going to get dirtier with the ncaa decision. Boosters will start funneling money through “jersey” sales and other bs. It’s just a mess and will make the elite even more elite because they’ll always be able to be ahead in the loopholes and find a way to get recruits more and more money... I’m all for kids being able to promote themselves but I just don’t see how they are going to keep all this fair and not let boosters and crap run wild... just don’t see how it gets regulated enough to keep things level.
If the schools are required to keep up with the endorsement money .. I think they would... and they could instruct the players that if they don't report it to the school, it would be an NCAA penalty and a crime for tax evasion.Good luck with that..
