Does anyone have the final penalty stats for the game last night?

Last time they showed it on TV we had almost double the amount of penalties

One thing ESPN got right, no constant cuts to Butch this year. I honestly don't remember if they showed him at all.
We caught him at the beginning of the game making sure he was seen on camera.. I didn't see him afterwards-- probably hiding because he didn't want to be seen if we were to beat Bama.

Ignore Wolken's text and watch JG's body language. The more I watch this, the more JG looks like he's satisfied with himself. He's casually strutting back to the sideline like he did exactly what he wanted to do and is completely ignoring Pruitt. I don't see how he can look that casual like nothing bad at all happened after that.

Ehhh... he knew he screwed up and was about to get the business and wasn’t that excited about the next few minutes of his life. Nothing more

Good deal

I do apologize for the drama queen part in the op

Lol no need...sounded a little like hyperbole but I get what you meant.

He kinda acted the same way against UGA when he got the wind knocked out. Instead of visibly reacting so much to pain he needs to just lay there until the medical staff gets to him and the pain passes.

Hey y'all. No idea why that tweet has people so mad or feeling like I'm "trolling" fans. There were about a million things that didn't go Tennessee's way. It's what I thought a very clear reference on the game. It's not a comment on any fans in any way and I'm legitimately floored anyone took it that way. I wrote about a handful of the most impactful missed calls after the game.

Anyway, hope y'all are well. Enjoy the rest of the season and thanks for reading and subscribing.
Since you bothered saying “y’all” twice in the same post...gfy half as much!

The announcers last night mentioned one of the reasons JG lost the job is he was calling terrible audibles.

Which is what some of us have been saying on here for 3 years. It's just not that hard to see. His first year they did not allow him to do it, they had to call audibles from the sideline. He cannot pre-snap read D's - at all - and is terrible with coverage reads.

So they should have stopped trotting him out there at least two years ago. Let him leave, transfer, take up the guitar, whatever. It's a recruiting failure by Botch to take him. However, the team and us have to live with it because Pruitt did not raise the profile of Shrout to back-up QB sooner or even have recruited a second QB the same year as Shrout. Chryst was not the answer and never got a real shot at it anyway.

It's a sad story of failure. It's a media and UT promotion failure to have pushed JG as the next great Vol QB, then the same media clowns chew him up and spit him out when he fails. The hype doesn't help until the QB proves it on the field. After that happens then it does help attract better players to the roster. JG will have to live with failure at UT all of his life because he was pushed to play when he was not capable. We get to live with his failures as memories. The coaches take it on the chins for failures during their careers. It's a bad deal all around because one bad HC recruits a key player clearly without the skillset and with sketchy success in a non-football power state; and another decides he can make something out of him anyway.

Who was the @$$hat at ESPN who thought it would be cute to put a side by side mural of Peyton and JG on completion percentage? If I remember correctly Griese was the only one with any integrity telling them to take it down. Such a joke of a company just trying to insight the fanbase because 80% of JG throws didn’t go beyond 3 yards.
Hey! Not so hasty! Valid and truthful information.

Question and please tell me I’m wrong, but I heard if someone gets a third concussion they are recommended to stop playing sports. Is there truth to this? If so, then I’m even more worried about Maurer since he has two now probably.

I think I saw something similar to that, but I really think Maurer has only had one potential concussion. Last week was a neck thing and last night was, unfortunately, a neck thing that got re-aggrivated --- I agree with what someone else said that he wouldn't have come out of the tent so fast and talked to Pruitt if it was a concussion. I think he kind of screwed himself by taking off his helmet on the field and then our training staff had no choice based on protocol... I think he plays this week.

He does have a choice. You don't risk the health of an 18 year old kid for a football game. I love TN Football as much as anyone. But I don't want any of these young men to knowingly suffer permanent damage to their health.

It’s not Pruitt’s choice. If Maurer is medically cleared to play and told about the risks moving forward. It’s Maurer choice to play.

Just like with Trey Smith, he’s been medically cleared to play and he chose to play. So he’s playing because he wants to play.

How do we know that Maurer has a concussion? All we know is that he had a head and neck injury last week and that he left the game last night after a cheap late hit to his head.

The Doctors were treating it like a concussion and went through that protocol but no one has ever said with complete certainty that Maurer had a concussion.

UT- 13 for 93 yards

Context means way more than just the numbers here. Bama got calls at critical moments in the game. We got none of that.

We were robbed of 2 TDs by the refs: phantom hold on wanya and when the refs just stopped the clock for no reason. Then obviously JG robbed us of two by missing JJ and then doing one of the dumbest things any of us have ever seen.

Agreed. I might call that being a drama queen and others might say he’s trying to sell the play to the officials or he might Just be that badly hurt in all these games.

Either way 18 HAS TO FINISH games

I can't believe you'd think that Maurer who has sacrificed his body that way is a "drama queen". Even Calloway (I believe) mentioned he needs to take it easier because we needed him.

Game turned for the worst when Darrell Taylor made an absolutely selfish play. Can’t say it was unexpected as that has been par for the course his career here. Except for a handful of players I am so ready to remove the Butch Jones stink from this team. It’s amazing after 4 years that JG could be this bad.
Except it wasn't. Totally ridiculous BS call and you know it.
