The Atlanta Braves

I get that. I don’t think either point is justifiable but I understand where they’re coming from. The two picks weren’t “true freshmen” mistakes. They were middle school mistakes. People are talking savior of the program and Peyton Manning. I’m just trying to see a 2H completion and for him to not be outscored by ultra conservative JG against Ms St. The commentary on Saturday game is hilarious.
Yeah, it's definitely over the top. Hell, people have been doing the same for Bailey and he's still in HS. I think with Maurer, people just like his gunslinger mentality and want a guy that looks willing to sling it around the yard after having to watch JG wait 5 seconds to get rid of the ball and miss the RB in the flat.

We really need Bailey to be good.

Yeah, people just want to grasp onto anything positive. The fact of the matter is Maurer hasn’t helped us win a game and if we’re depending on him to do so going forward then that’s a recipe for disaster.

They were bad, and I’m not trying to say the kid is great, but I would rather see more of him than JG. What about the pick he threw to absolutely nobody vs Florida? That was on par with the 2 BM threw last week. The kid literally got worse coming into his 3rd year.

Couldn't get much worse and at least now, the rest of the team looks engaged. That is pretty much my only argument for him because he has looked...inexperienced.

If you change the names on their stat lines from Saturday people would be trying to give Maurer the heisman and hoping JG burns in hell

BUT because of the names of who did what, Maurer is the second coming and the only reason we won is the “lead” he built that JG was able to sustain.

It’s a joke. Maurer has some energy and a little athleticism but I could make a case that he SUCKS significantly easier than he’s even average. There’s no need to do that, for many reasons most of which he’s a true freshman, but the crowning is embarrassing.

JG is bad and BM is about equal. We are still looking for Dobbs replacement

For sure. I don’t think it’s wrong to say there’s something there with Maurer and there’s nothing there with JG.

I just think we’re all making the wrong assumptions when we like the outcome.

That Mississippi State team is awful and they somehow found two QBs worse than what we have. And yet we still only scored 20 points.

Tbh, it might not matter, it looks like the rest of our schedule is largely very bad.

Maybe it’s just watching a kid actually step up in the pocket and not look like a deer in the headlights at the first sign of pressure. The Georgia first half, and a few of the balls the Jennings were big time throws that we haven’t seen in a few years. Maybe thats what they are running with....

We know this already? Both FCS?

JG for sure. It's obvious. 3 years in and he's not improved at all. He would probably light up the FCS level

I give BM a pass because he's a freshman. He might be a decent backup, but I don't think he's the answer

He's from Florida. If he showed potential as an everyday starter in high school then why did he not receive a Florida, FSU or Miami offer? We beat out Florida A&M

This stuff about the Angels is really ugly.
Sometimes I wonder I'm too much of a cynic, but then the rest of the story about that situation comes out and I don't think I am. As soon as that story broke, even before the cause of death was confirmed, I figured it was drugs and other people on the team knew about it/were involved in some way. That sort of thing usually doesn't just happen in a vacuum.

team employee was supplying the drugs to Tyler Skaggs and is threatening to name other players that used.
Both my parents were drug users when I was growing up so maybe I’m just numb to this stuff, but it’s a problem at every level of sports. Usually starts in the minor leagues in baseball because guys have to buy street pain killers instead of going to the team.

Not surprising to me that trainers and stuff have started to get their cut of the action.
