If they refuse to negotiate on drug prices, there is a 65% tax on the pharmaceutical companies per quarter, increasing by 10% per quarter until they do so. It will absolutely hit them. With caps on monthly out of pocket for drug costs for consumers, it does the direct opposite of what you say.

The caps extend to private insurance, if that private company wants to adopt them. Pete's plan introduces competition into the insurance market. He will have a public option, but not do away with private insurance. If those private insurance companies want to remain cost effective and competitive, they will adopt the same drug cost caps as Pete's public option. If they don't, your fiance would find better, more cost effective insurance through the public option he proposes. What is stopping the drug companies from passing those costs on to the consumer? I’d love for my mom to not have to spend so much for her medications but not if it means my fiancé’s costs are quadrupled.

It is a pretty solid proposal. Pete's white paper gets into the specifics.

Bad actors eventually have their patents seized by the government if they refuse to negotiate fair prices.Who is gonna pay when those caps are met? Do you honestly believe the pharmaceutical companies are gonna just be cool with cutting their bottom line by billions? Looks like drug prices are gonna increase by 65% under Pete’s plan and an increase of 10% more every 3 months.
Tell me about it. My Mom is turning 91 this month, worked more than 20 years as an accountant at UT Medical Center and yet, in her retirement the medical only pays for her insulin for the first 6 months of the year and it costs $250 a month for the 2nd half of the year. Fortunately I am able to pay that for her.How would you explain the absurdity of charging $300+ dollars for insulin that costs $6 to make.

Michelle and Hillary are not running. You guys will have to hate them outside of Dem presidential politics.Looks like the Democrats are in panick mode trying to talk Moochelle Obama into a run for Office >>>>>
Liz Peek: Panicky Democrats beg Michelle Obama to run -- But would she win?
They (Dems) will probably try to get Hillary to come out of the woods now to run.....candidates suck really bad.
Biden has some baggage, but he is trouncing Trump in state polls, as is Bernie and Warren.
After Pete wins Iowa, he will eventually secure the nomination. And Trump won't stand a chance against Pete's message.
We keep telling you it's Warren. Biden and Bernie aren't going to be finishers. And Pete's not in the running.
