@de1conley is in the Banks thread with comments about our losing fan base and program. So, do you hate this staff and Tennessee again? @de1conley You were talking how we needed guys like in the 90’s selling drugs out of the dorm like Bama and Georgia do. Is this what the rest of you think we need to be winners again? Guys like Banks? Seems like trainers would guide them to better choices.
Banks wasn't selling drugs out of his dorm though.

Just read something by their 247 writer where he said the admin doesn’t want to pay it and would rather wait a year to fire him.

Ultimately I think they’ll decide to do it this year anyway.
the only reaosn i can think of that they wouldn't is if he finished somewhat strong....and if anyone in Columbia is willing to give him a pass because of how the schedule set up.

that said, if he loses games they think he should win, like against us, then things get dicier than they already are.

We need depth at Linebacker, but biggest need IMO is on the D-Line. The lack of pass rush was apparent all game. Need some difference makers there.
agreed. we're still in on hardy, baron, grimes and a couple others. got Bailey and Ojulari in the boat. i think we'll wind up with 4-5 DL this cycle. i think they'd take those three in state guys and the two we have and run with it. still have options iwth Omari Thomas and Marcus Henderson if they get in too.

If this staff is worth its salt surely they can develop some pass rush from
A couple current guys.

Sure we need more but development is just as important as this recruiting imo

Not the point. De1conley was saying in 90’s we did that and that’s the kind of players we had then and need now to get back to the top. So, we won’t get the players we need to get back there. He’s right we need better systems in place with police and University relationships. @de1conley

it is, and that just takes a little time. guys like harrison, crouch...several currently on the DL...this is their first real season of college ball.

bring in another crop of freshmen, and will have to continue to develop them too....

it just is what it is....gotta stack a couple of these kinds of classes together. and if we can get some guys from the 20 cycle just to the point where they can spell some of hte other guys, then i'd say mission accomplished. the sooner we can get to the point where we DON"T HAVE TO PLAY freshmen, the better.

and that's probably 2 years out imo.

Good post

I’ll try to say this without sounding too negative but guys like crouch need to start flashing especially the last 4-5 games. Even if we are out of bowl contention there will
Be plenty do follow with guys like that. We just haven’t seen much flash to date though which worries me a little

I’d settle for a happy medium where there isn’t the air of avenging angels from law enforcement and media agents. Recognize the football program for the boon it is (the arresting officer from the CAMPUS didn’t even have awareness of Jeremy Banks. Talked to the HC and still no breaks) and have a little give. They haul in a city councilman over a traffic related warrant...if he doesn’t have a dead hooker in the passenger floorboard?

omg if I hear you complain anymore about not seeing "flash" from a freshman 5 games in I'm gonna find a "bruin" and punch it in the ear.

i think Crouch has flashed some. he had a play Saturday night that was really impressive, where he came around the entire line and broke a play up....anyway...yeah....i know what you mean............

i think for a lot of the young guys, November presents opportunity......just need to see if we can get a W this week and get thru the Bama game, and start the season over.

His buyout is right at 20 million. Don’t think CWM is going anywhere.

His agent needs a raise. I don’t know how the got that buyout

Kind of a history buff.....big day for a Tennessean

Alvin York - Wikipedia
Family’s from Fentress County...everything’s named after him. Ironic thing is during the interview for my second job in DFW, my future boss’s first question was “So you graduated from Clarkrange?” Guy’s last name was York...Alvin’s grandson.

Lol

Well we have seen plenty of freshmen flash in their first 5 games and most of them proved to be dang good players over the years.

That's a beautiful place. I love riding through that area and going by the grist mill.
