Recruiting Forum Football Talk II

What I saw in person was a different team and mindset and a QB who can sling it and my son having a great time and seeing and hearing the old Neyland. So heck yeah, encouraged and hopeful fun times in our FUTURE if he keeps recruiting and can build it. Also, Trey is playing. You said he never would again. Just go away if every post is going to be your piss poor attitude. We have NOT arrived and problem I have is you seem to enjoy it and gleefully point it out with every post you make.
Hahahaha okay buddy. Just two weeks ago you were attacking the coach personally as a “dumbass gump” and you were pulling all your money from the program. Sorry I’m not as up and down as you are.

Last night was a step in the right direction in a handful of areas, as I’ve said before and I’ll say again. But let’s string a couple good weeks together and get the defense straightened out before we act like anything has truly changed.

How was it closer than the score indicated? Seems like the UGA whipped us in the 4th quarter, which is what good teams do to bad teams with no depth. Does only the first half count when measuring the performance of the Vols?
Georgia made their breaks. Sack/fumble/scoop and score. Held us on 4th and goal. 14+ point swing in those sequences. Again they earned that swing though.

Still hate them.

Was pleasantly surprised by the effort and some of the results but it was shocking how slow our front 7 looked on D.

I only noticed Crouch twice and it was on back to back plays where he got roasted. The reverse where he got blocked by Fromm and then when they ran right at him and he couldn’t decide what to do. Dude doesn’t look ready to me.
To be a former RB, Crouch doesn't look as fast as I thought he was. Struggles in open space trying to close on a play from a distance.

I saw it. Think it was Calbert but saw end of it and APPEARED it was him. I’m like 80 percent sure. It was bad. Looks like he should be sent packing unless Friend called him N or slapped him.
Meh. As long as it doesn't come to blows I don't care. I want everybody pissed off until this thing gets fixed. I'd be more concerned if they weren't mad enough to fight.

You shore up some mistakes here and there, a few more bad calls go our way, take away the sack/fumble/score, we run it instead of throwing every down in the redzone at the end, and this was really about a 14pt win by GA over us...

He’s still a dumb azz gump but I still will give money to basketball was what I said. Change my mind with what I see with my eyes as far as effort ect. So yes, if they come out next week and play like they did against Florida, I’ll be pissed.

Refs block on the scoop for one and we drove to the 5 at end of game. GSU wasn’t as close as score indicated either. Was much worse. You watch the plays and effort as well.

Lady sitting beside us said oh **** what is that. I saw them after holding them back and kid trying to swing so not sure if blows or not. I would’ve been kicked off of a team charging a coach and trying to hit him. But didn’t see the beginning

Well, to me it’s kinda like Grant and Admiral doing the gator chop when we beat Florida. Didn’t bother me.
Bothers me, but there is a difference between my jimmies being gently rustled in the breeze and blatant classlessness. I always consider how I’d feel if our players did that, and we would have loved that, so I’m not going to get upset over that

Yea, if he crossed the physical violence line that could be a problem. I still want them mad. Anger is a great motivator. Hopefully it gets ironed out and Calbert learns from it.

The non-call PI on Calloway was major turning point in the game. If call is made, Vols have fd inside the 25 (maybe closer) and chance to get at least 3 plus more time off the clock. Halftime score would have been 20-17 at the worst. Still pleased with the team’s performance and improvement.
The fact that we can even have this conversation about how a call could have made or broken the game, makes me optimistic, because for so long we've just been getting the crap beaten out of us and there was so much other stuff wrong that there is no point even talking about the officiating.
