Because immediately going down 0-7 can be a bummer and he gambled on being able to start the game with confidence. Hindsight is 20/20 and I subscribe to always defer for many reasons but it's easy to understand what Pruitt was thinking.

What if that bomb to Calloway happened in our opening drive? Does that change your mind?

We went down 7-0 anyway

And gave them the double up end of
First half/start of 2nd have as well

It really hurt us if we strictly look at the result

That's hindsight. Again, if the TD happened in the first possession rather than the second, could that change things?

Okay, awake, coffee and now Sober....

Hope we get injury updates ASAP--- GA was playing dirty at the end on the line. Really hope our linemen including Solomon are just dinged up, but will be ready for next week.

Something has got to be adjusted on the D line. I know GA line is really good, but at times my wife even noticed that we seemed to be playing paddy-cake with them. We got zero pressure on the QB and that has GOT to change.

Can't believe I am saying this, but our secondary overall when playing good teams is a liability... we made some good plays, but also made a ton of idiot plays that cost us huge yards or points. Our DBs were not impressive at all last night. Thompson would make a few good plays, then would blow a huge play for major yards or points.

Maurer is our guy for the remainder of the season. Made good and bad plays last night, but look at the D he played against...Ride with him and he will get better each game and the team will follow. If Pruitt tries to put JG back in, then I'm off the Pruitt train and he can go away for all I care...

Play calling/adjustments are still questionable at this point and we got burned on at least 3 plays on D because we were looking at the sidelines. First and goal towards the end of the game and we throw it every down?? Run it four downs and we are in the endzone in 2-3, or put Crouch in and we are in at a min of 2.

We can salvage this season if we stay healthy and make adjustments.

Forfeit the AL game or literally put in our walk-ons and just let them score... get it over with and concentrate on the games that mean something. We don't need anyone hurt in that garbage game this season.

I think we did enough last night to impress recruits to see what we are trying to in terms of a rebuild. Maurer playing was very important and it worked to our favor with them.

Sux that the refs cost us some points so the game on the scoreboard would have been a little closer.

1st half Tennessee can beat 5 of Carolina, Miss St, Missouri, Vandy, UAB and Kentucky and get to a bowl if we show up like we did vs UGA. Sadly it's a 4 quarter game and the second half will kill us due to our depth. We NEED PASS RUSHERS TOO!!!

Also Maurer is going to be good in time, he needs to get a lot bigger though.

Or get a O line that protects him like Fromm has so he can stand back there, pick his nose, tie his shoe, then decide who he is going to throw it to... Maurer behind the GA line last night would have done just about as well I think...

He’s a freshmen. He will fill out next year and only get better with time. I bet he is our starter next year and Bailey is the back up. And that is best for us.

Should say that I had heard SOME of the Seniors & Juniors has checked out.

I don’t think anyone would suggest JJ and some others would be in that group.

I had been told all they cared about at this point was collecting their COA

You really have to have an elite QB to have a chance at a title. It turns good coaches into great coaches. I think Kirby is only a good coach. He was very average with Eason and only won seven games his first year with a nine win team the year before. Since Fromm, they have been on a role. I bet they take a step back without Fromm. He is great at reading defenses and taking what a defense gives him. I was very impressed with him last night.

Fromm has only been sacked ONE time this year. That was an NFL offensive line we faced and it showed as we had zero pass rush.

Worth noting the team played as hard and passionate as they have all season with a few guys leaving during the bye week. We’ll see how it plays out as this roster continues to flip.

DL is a problem. I get we need more talent there. Still need better results with the DL.

I didn't see any violent hand fighting, spin moves, or stunts/shifts. Just poor technique.

Only saw bull rushing and they got locked on with the OL with no release. No separation or spacing. Adjustments to try to get more pressure.

Havent seen much if any improvement with the DL 5 games in. Think we need a upgrade at DL coaching.

No. If we had Fromm, we would have at least been 3-1 going into last night.

I don’t think we have to worry about that. I bet Rocker is gone and probably one or two more. We have to nail that hire.

What is our ILB situation next year? Too Too, JJP, and Page? Yikes. If so, we need to recruit at least three this cycle and probably take a GT.
