Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

So what's the final score in today's game w/Georgia?

Looks like true freshman Brian Maurer will be the starting QB in today's game......Good luck to him/want last long.

I haven't found a time of game yet......last I saw was 7pm ET on ESPN?

I have a bet with a guy going to the game on how long he will make it. I told him and of 1st quarter you are gone.

Well, I hope to God Almighty that's the last time I mow my yard for the year.

Now, it's that time of year to get out and rake leaves for a couple of months....... happy happy......joy joy.

GBO..........Don't let us down today....:(
We did the area in front of the warehouse this morning and I just gave my Gravely it’s annual oil change which I’ve been meaning to do since July. Probably mow 1 or 2 more times before we’re done for the year. Next I’ve got to fill in a few armadillo holes, they just showed up this year and started burrowing under my buildings... these tunnels are like 8” diameter and can be several feet deep.

I hate those critters...........glad I don't have to fool around and deal w/them....

Does your wife sit over there and shriek or add barbs about how you are handling things? Sometimes I wonder which environment is worse - inside or outside the car.
Does this mainly happen when you're burning rubber in your WRX?

BTW coming back from the warehouse an hour ago I had a blast from the past... was passed on I-45 by an orange Porsche 914... the one I wrecked in Texas in 1979 was white but talk about a fun car to drive...

My Saturday afternoon. Repairing cylinder head bolt holes. Ran studs in earlier this week and they were loose as hell. Why this wasn't discovered at the machine shop is beyond me. Purchased a time-sert kit. 6 holes complete. 4 to go.

Delays on engine building suck.

Gonna finish today and get the mains and crank in. 20191005_144430.jpg20191005_144450.jpg

Weelll, maybe. It's actually the Legacy variant ... the salesman referred to it as the WRX for adults. Goes almost as good as a WRX, but the 2010 WRX was pretty spartan and didn't have much room for luggage on trips.

I have to admit to a new love in my life though. I spotted a new metallic red Miata hardtop from almost a block away a couple of days ago ... wow. From the right angles you can almost think like Cobra Daytona Coupe and Ferrari GTO. It's making me consider that maybe I could manage the ignominy of trips in the wife's SUVs type preference. But on the other hand, lots of HP and all wheel drive is a really hard addiction to break.

Looking good! Years ago I was re-torquing head bolts after running the engine and getting things broken in, one bolt gave that sickening feel; I stopped in disgust and walked away. Next day after I cooled down, I went out and actually backed the bolt out; you could see the twist and the break, but it stayed together. A car shop foreman told me later if I'd tried to back it out with the engine hot, it would have broken completely. I still have the bolt as a reminder. The studs I learned to hate most were the ones on the exhaust manifold.
