Yeah you mean college.

That’s what I’m tripping on. There has to be more to this story.

That kind of **** happens every night in college towns. I know because I live in one and visit many for games.
This was a local media witch hunt and that TMZ picked up on and ran the behind the police car video. Then someone saw a chance obviously to cash out with TMZ on the second video and then Fulmer or higher says...... yeahhhhh jeremy we tried but this is getting bigger than us. It’s national.


Then boom.

Bye bye Jeremy Banks 10 hours after posting a Instagram picture of him and Pruitt on the field saying I would do anything for this man.


My guess?

Someone powerful stirred the pot and it went viral

Well, I’m not gonna comment on the dismissal itself. I don’t engage in those discussions because we rarely(never) know the entire scope.

This is the type of stuff they do at UGA. Kirby was involved early in changing legislation.

Now, I know the FOIA request in Banks case was with the UTPD, but the point still remains. Other schools are getting away with making it more difficult to get information.

I wouldn’t put much stock in a damn thing will west says!! Especially if he’s using PFF to concrete his opinion.

Bill Norton blew a 0.10% BAC. That's like 3 beers. Pretty far from "innocent deaths". DUIs should be punished but that's a bit hyperbolic. All in all Bryce's situation strikes me as worse.

Innocent people die from drunk driving. A 0.10% BAC isnt drunk. Its criminal but not drunk. The danger of DUI is always a matter of degrees. That particular DUI was not so egregious hence my understanding why Bill Norton got a one game suspension. Thompson's case of threatening his girlfriend, threatening to shoot up the school and destroying property was worse than Bill Norton's DUI.

To deviate from the train wreck that is our football program, I thought I'd share some observations from last night's Rocky Top Tipoff.

The leaders of this team are what you would guess. Turner, Bowden, and Pons. Turner and Bowden were Turner and Bowden. As good as ever. Pons was much more aggressive last night. He obviously needs to become more of a scoring threat and he seems to be taking that to heart.

Of the other returning players, Jalen Johnson looks different. I think he's bulked up a little - doesn't look as lanky as last year. He was much more aggressive from a scoring standpoint. He looks like he could be a force this year. Fulkerson, we'll, he looked liked Fulkerson. I don't see Kent doing much. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see him being a factor.

Ok, on to the new guys. Uros is a big man. He's athletic, he runs the floor, he can post up and has a multitude of moves. He can also handle the ball well for a big man. We really need him to be granted eligibility this year. He's the best big man we've had in a bit.

The newcomer I'm most excited about? Oliver. He was the best player on the court many times. He doesn't look or play like a freshman. He's strong and he can do it all. He can take someone off the dribble and post up a big man. He posted up Uros once last night and scored over him with ease. He is so smooth. Scored on mtiple drives to the basket and he seems to just glide through the air. He reminds me of a more athletic Tobias (yes I said that). He was a little under the radar signee last year because of James but he is the real deal.

The other newcomer that impressed me was the Oregon transfer, Bailey. He's a hardnosed, physical type of guard. I'm not sure if he will be eligible this year? I'm not sure where he projects but I could see him running the point.

Didn't see much of Gaines but he is an athlete. Needs to add some weight but he can jump out of the gym. In warm-ups he was throwing down some serious stuff. I expect a lot from this kid just not sure when.

If you're wondering about the five star, James, so am I . Not sure if he is injured or what. Never came off the bench for warm-ups or scrimmage time. Sat next to Coach Barnes for the entirety of the program. Was disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing him play.

As a whole, this team looks like a very tight knit group. They all were joking around with each other. No subgroups, they all seemed to really enjoy being together. They all seemed to be having fun. I am excited or this season. While I don't think they'll be a final four team, I think they'll be better than many think. We lost a lot last year but I think we've added more than many realize. I would love to have seen this team with one more year with Grant.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists these effects on driving at different blood alcohol content levels:4

  • 0.02 BAC: You are likely to feel relaxed and have some loss of judgment. You aren't able to quickly track the movements of other vehicles, pedestrians, or animals. You lose some of your abilities to do two things at once, so you are more likely to be distracted.
  • 0.05 BAC: You begin to exhibit loss of small-muscle control such as being able to focus your eyes, and you can have lowered alertness. You have even worse ability to track moving objects. Your ability to steer is degraded. If an emergency situation develops, such as needing to brake quickly or maneuver around an unexpected blockage, you are likely to have a poorer response. As a result, a 2018 report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine calls for the lowering the BAC limit for driving to 0.05 percent.
  • 0.08 BAC: At the legal level of 0.08, you will usually exhibit poor muscle coordination, loss of balance, slower reaction time, slurred speech, loss of acuity in vision and hearing, difficulty in detecting danger, and impaired judgment, self-control, reasoning, and memory. When driving, you have difficulties in speed control and in recognizing and reacting to signals and emergency situations. All of these impairments result in an increased risk of injuries in general, and particularly those related to the operation of a motor vehicle.

  • 0.10 BAC: At this level, you will have further deterioration of your abilities. It will be hard to maintain lane position and to brake when needed.
  • 0.15 BAC: You will have poor muscle control and ability to balance. You are likely to vomit. You will have significant problems in controlling your vehicle and paying attention to your driving and what is happening around you.
