You can’t make a blanket statement like this. Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, Kirby Smart (and Mark Richt before him) had no HC experience and are doing (did) great. Plenty of other examples over the years. The difference is the level of the rosters they took over. You can shoot me back plenty of coordinators who did fail when taking over the head job, but that just means that it’s not that simple as saying to get someone with HC experience. That was the rationale for hiring Butch, after all.

Video(s) are the difference. Doesn’t mean that’s fair, but the public perception is much more of an issue with video. I agree that’s why you should suspend for a long time and let it blow over. The news cycle outrage will move on.

Which is why a QB change was needed. I’m not sure how Maurer will play, but if he lights a fire under our team, that will be worth it. I’m sick of seeing JG sit on the sidelines silently and his body language on the field.

Folks - I pointed out a few years back that UTK had come uncomfortably close to going through what Mizzou went through when they lost a third of their total student enrollment with all of the faux SJW stuff. There are going to be incidents of this type until normal human relations and calmer heads prevail. The media is still stoking the woke. They think it drives news and media interest. In actuality it does the opposite with the people who actually support the programs and most of the market. People get hurt from it and their intent in doing so is highly questionable. But who on here believes TMZ and John Adams actually care what happens to the people involved?

UT went a different direction with the hiring of Boyd, Plowman, Fulmer, etc. Got to give it time, they are in transition just like the football program. That being said, there is no place in the world for verbal, emotional, or physical abuse. Period. Banks was totally off base and immature. Multiple incidents happened and you will never know the full details. Time for him to go because that attitude was also in the locker room and on the field. We saw him routinely called out by his coaches. I am somewhat surprised that Thompson is still there. He brought enough baggage with him from HS that USCe/Muschamp dropped him. Which is direct evidence that the narrative that UT and KPD do not do what they need to like other places really doesn't hold water. Some of us know folks well that work at both, so we get a reasonably real picture of what goes on.

Time to move on and see if Pruitt is the guy to get the job done or not. Time to find out if Maurer is a QB that can deliver. Time to find out who on the roster are real men or just boys.

1998 my wife was in labor on Saturday prior to Georgia game. I got in trouble when I told the doc he needs to get this done before the game.

He did. High fived my fellow Vol fan. Still have to listen to Mother in-law bring it up every year.

The body cams are there just as much to protect the officers.

Body cams should be mandatory at all times. And impossible to turn off. Whether a cop is on duty or off.

If you’re wearing a badge and a gun, you’re filming. Don’t want to wear the camera? Take off the badge, and unholster the weapon.

my mother in law went in to labor with my now wife during a Steelers/Bengals game.

My father in law didn't take her to the hospital till the game was over.
