Larry Sievers had incredible handsOctober 2, 1976........
21 second quarter points were enough as the Vols Defense came up with a pair of 2pt conversion stops and a timely interception late to hold on to a 21-19 victory over Clemson.
Larry Seivers tied a then record of 11 receptions for 131 yrds and a touchdown.

On October 3rd 1942 Tennessee played the Fordham Rams in Neyland Stadium and came away with a 40-14 win. Tennessee finished the 1942 season with 9-1-1 record(which included a 14-7 win over Tulsa in the 1943 Sugar Bowl) while Fordham finished 1942 with a 5-3-1 record.

Tulsa was a national power between 1942 and 1944(They went to the 1943 Sugar Bowl,1944 Sugar Bowl and the 1945 Orange Bowl) and they were helped considerably by the Navy's V12 program which sent college football and NFL players to get naval officers training at Tulsa while they played football. Georgia Tech was in the same V12 Navy program and it helped them win the 1943 and 1944 SEC Championship
I was at this game it was late when it was over.October 5, 2002.......
5 overtimes, 135 yards and 2TDs by Jabari Davis, and 266 yrds from Casey Clausen were not enough vs Arkansas. It took 6 OTs and a 25 yrd TD pass to Jason Witten to finally finish off the Hogs in a 41-38 victory. Clausen finished with 291 yrds and 2 TDs. Forgotten, was Troy Fleming’s (Fellow Battle Gound Academy Alum) fumble recovery in the end zone in the 5th OT.

Looks like the kicker Ricky Townsend lost his shoe and Condredge Holloway is about to lose his shirt.
