You have to start with the premature bus and roses celebrations and blowing the shot at a 2nd national championship in 4 years. In one sense, going into that game was the peak. It would have changed everything for many years to come. Then continue 2002 to 2008. Then you can understand what he's talking about.Disagree. As I pointed out he had 4 new offensive personnel on staff for 2008. At the end of that season you would have likely seen changes made to correct the issue. 2007 we were in the SEC Title game. Had he not been fired we likely go 6-6 and make a bowl (probably win that too), so 2009 wouldn't have been as rough as it ended up being.
The years leading in to that -- beginning with CFP's first game, standing in for Majors, was one of the greatest games we've ever played. And it was up and up thru the natty. But there was always the issue that F could never beat somebeotch who shall go unnamed, even with the best rosters in school history. If Billy Ratcliff hadn't made that one play, knocking him onto that arky qb's foot, things would look different: like a long long train of almost there.
I wonder if there is a split between people who remember all of that and people who have only watched the **** storm that came in the sequel and read about those days?
But from the 2001 sec title game thru 2008 was extremely frustrating. And look at the last 4 conference records.
But I said I was going to abstain on this subject for a while.
