I'd say if Pruitt can consistently win 6 or 7 wins after year 4, it's his job for as long a he wants it.
Doubtful. If the standards are 6-7 wins then they better hang tarps up in the upper deck, a' la TBA. Also, as the team improves expectations rise with it. With each win, fans want one more and expect it. If a team is consistently winning 10 games but not challenging for championships, things go south fast. If you don't believe me, ask Mark Richt.

The company, the University, produces a product, the football team. The fans, the customers, pay for the product. When the product becomes less desirable to the the customers, the fans, many stop purchasing the product, the tickets to see the football team, then the company, the university, loses money and if something doesn't change, the company, the University, goes belly up.

Fans do influence coaching hires and fires. I've always maintained, especially when it comes to UT sports and football in particular, that all decisions to fire are mainly made on a spreadsheet. The coach will be fired when it's financially responsible to fire him. When the losses outweigh the cost of firing and hiring a new coach.
Customers change products in favor of better value or quality.

So if we're saying fans are simply customers I can recommend several other products to you...

Fans are more than customers as they have a loyalty. But having said that, fans give up all the time. They may not find another team but they move to other avenues that they feel give them more enjoyment. We've already lost a generation of fans due to the dysfunction of the last 10 years. If you don't think ticket sales drive hiring and firing decisions then probably no need to discuss it further.
