Yep, he’s should have never dropped it. That said no one likes a fast ball coming at your face.
A QB should throw a catchable ball and JG isn’t very good at throwing catchable balls.
JJ should have caught it but I completely understand why he didn’t.
The answer is you don’t give an answer. Make no commitments- and I’m sure Fulmer is doing the same thing.I’m so dang conflicted on what we should do. I just think we are going to be better off swallowing our pride and ride this out. Give him 2 more years and see how we are progressing. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen things that made me say he’s not the guy but maybe he will learn from his mistakes and we can eventually turn this crap around. Maybe he can grow into the guy.
Think I have reached acceptance stage of grief
Honestly just trying to be hopeful. Like you, if we sign a top 10 class I'd ****, but it will prob be more like 14-18, sorta like the 2018 class, unless he recruits out of his mind these next few months. If it happens I’ll be back on board because that’s arguably harder than winning a national championship at this point.
I agree. Winning two games is never acceptable. And it is not as if the East is some strong division right now either. I am saying we just have to wait and see how the season unfolds. If he manages 5-6 then he is safe. If he wins 2-3. He needs to go or fans will be completely checked out.If we only win 2 games and don't fire Pruitt then Fulmer should be fired immediately and have the next AD fire him. I'm all for giving a coach time but even Dooley or Butch wouldn't lose 10 games with this roster. 2 wins at Tennessee is coaching malpractice of the highest degree, period.
Well...in my family it was about being a Tennessean, which I realize a lot of people here aren't. It was about Us vs Them...and growing up in the late 70s early 80s we endured a lot of humiliation, but it was a "Tennessee Volunteers don't quit when they are outmanned" attitude that was drilled into me by my pappaws as they would talk about Tennesseans getting annihilated at the Alamo, or destroying the Brits at New Orleans.
And that idea, that underdog stubbornness, was perfectly personified by the 85 Vols and even the 88 Vols in a weird way.
That is why the last few years have rubbed me so raw about the team that represents...US...all the softness, quitting, and don't care is just sickening to me..
Now this team, or at least some few members of this team may have some of those qualities as their default mode still, but I have decided that I am not going to let that attitude ruin me...the team may not truly represent the..US..that my grandfathers would talk about...but I sure can, so I have made up my mind that I will not quit just because the going is tougher than I ever believed it could be...It just does not matter because...my blood flows Tennessee Volunteer Orange and always will.
I guess we will find out how good of recruiters our staff is because they are in deep. Sign days are all we have to look forward to.
Exactly how I feel. The answer is you don’t give an answer. Make no commitments- and I’m sure Fulmer is doing the same thing.
He only gets another year if he earns it. He only gets a second year if he deserves that. You don’t throw your hands in the air and say “oh we suck” and write a blank check.
If he’s going to make it here then he can beat Vandy, UAB and one of Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi State. It’s not asking too much to expect those things.
Right now it sucks bc we’re getting virtually no quality production out of Pruitts initial class. Especially with the regression of A. Taylor, Bryce, and flowers.
You’re getting absolutely nothing out of:
Shrout
Jj Peterson
Warren
Antonutti
Kingston Harris
Brandon Davis
Jordan Allen*** hurt
Gooden***hurt
Virtually nothing out of:
Carvin
Jahmir
Mincey
Tillman
Kenneth George
Banks (no position)
Emerson, DWA, And garland have played and had production but they aren’t difference makers. Brooks has been great on kicks fwiw.
Also none the GRad transfers or jucos we’ve gotten have been difference makers.
LOL. He was stuck and had no choice with half of those players given the time crunch of signing day.
Don't get it twisted, all the misses in 16 and 17 are what is killing this team.

You’re asking me to get used to 2-10 seasons because you want to keep the coach who just (theoretically) went through one.Firing Pruitt this year would be completely stupid. You will not get a better coach and staff...there is zero to gain from it. If you do, you better get used to 2-10 seasons because that will be our spot for a long while.
Probably for the best. If asked before the anger and frustration of the season, if we should start a freshmen against Ga, I would have laughed and said "if we want to ruin him". Most here would've..if being honest.I think Pruitt is just riding with JG to get past Bama. Then he goes with the young guys. I think they get snaps every game, but after Bama they turn them lose. Why feed them to the wolves and kill their confidence in guaranteed losses like UGA & Bama ? Have a solid package for them in the Mississippi St game then start one of them at home against USCjr
People lower their expectations weekly and it drives me nuts.Exactly how I feel.
