Y'all are going to think I'm crazy but hear me out.

So first things first. We very likely are going to have to wait a few more years til we fire Pruitt. He is in over his head and will never get it done here.

Our next coach will have to be someone that is an experienced head coach. That's the first requirement.

After 15 years of bad coaches, we will need to make a home run hire. Someone like Urban. But we all know we will not do that.

Therefore, we will be searching for the low-mid tier guys. We will be so hungry for a bowl appearance that we will decide an average guy that we know can win 6-7 games a year will do.

Personally, I think a realistic hire would be someone like Barry Odom. He has improved every year he has been at Missouri. If you look at the recruiting classes they have had over the past several years and then look at all the close games they've been in, it could be argued they are a few talented guys away from being pretty good. He could recruit some of those higher ranked guys at Tennessee. Oh and he knows how to beat Florida.

I have always LOVED Missouri's offense. I think the scheme is a great equalizer when you don't play with a lot of talent. Missouri also often has a very good DL, something we haven't had in several years.

Let's be real. We won't hire the big names we really want. So I believe pairing that offense, that coach, and a proven DC can be good enough to be our next move.

After three years of the SSDD (except Auburn and Kentucky game) can anyone really say that JG gives us the BEST chance to win? Wouldn't it be better to see if one of the younger guys could at least bring a spark. How much worse can it be than losing to Georgia State?

Pretty nuts how Helton was able to make JG seem like even an average QB last year and with Chaney he has regressed into a baby goldfish throwing the football.

I'm with you. Dobbs got his first playing time in the 2nd half vs Alabama and that was a ferocious D-line. He went out and made plays and didn't get killed in the way the starter was because he had pocket awareness and mobility. True Freshmen QBs are succeeding all over the country right now i'm honestly tired of us being afraid to play ours vs a good team. Put the kid in, let him learn and see what it's like to play against the best of the best. If we play JG we might as well just forfeit the game imo.
True freshmen QB's, who are starting and are successful, probably have a very strong group of guys playing around them. We don't have that here.
