No way. A coach doesn’t need five years to see if they are going to make it. The only reason they don’t want to move on is strictly financial. If we win 2-3 games this year and 4-5 next year then they have zero chance of season ticket sales being close to 50,000-60,000 and they will be forced to make a move.
the fan base is fatigued regardless. whether you keep him or fire him, i dn't see fans getting excited. there wasn't a mad rush to buy tickets when we hired pruitt, so excitement level was meh.
and for what they'd be able to bring in this November, i would imagine the excitement meter stays stuck on zero.
there was already a good many folks on the "wait and see" train.
that train just added cars this season, and it'd add more with a new hire.........
financially, they're better off keeping what they have, at least they don't have to allocate any new resources to the staff or come up with new resources to pay buyouts and a new staff.
so if that means buying another two years with this staff to see where you are at the end of year 4, i think that's what they're willing to do, barring something epically bad, and at this point, i can't imagine it getting much worse, but who knows, we've been finding new ways to do it lately, so i won't rule it out all together.
bottom line, we're in the wonderful world of "you don't have a choice" when it comes to retaining pruitt imo.
