loaded question. we all know what's happening, and has happened, is unacceptable. So in year 5 of the Jeremy Pruitt era, what's an acceptable win total?
JG leaves points out on the field, every game but the UTC game.Exactly. You can’t be done on Pruitt, yet. The offense needs to be less predictable with counters and misdirection in the run game.
JG has to learn to put some touch on the ball and take some steam off. 7-21 points were missed because of this.
Like many here I've hired and fired people and one thing I learned the hard way is once u have determined a mistake was made on a hire, rectify immediately. We knew Pruitt would require time and we are all (rightly) losing our minds 2nd season. At what point do we settle on a dude and let him work?
I find it hard to believe you retain any hope for JG turning the corner. You would think 2+ years as the starter would be enough to learn to put some touch on the ball. Never gonna happen for him.Exactly. You can’t be done on Pruitt, yet. The offense needs to be less predictable with counters and misdirection in the run game.

All that’s fine. But nothing less than a top 5 national class allows us to bridge the gap of bad coaching the current roster has been getting. Obviously a top 5 class isn’t going to happen.I agree. But with the caveat that several of the high level guys we re after aren't committed anywhere else either at the moment. I honestly don't think we re sitting at 20 commits with wins over BYU and Ga St either. I think some of those decisions were not coming until Oct and Nov. regardless.
And IMO. We could have taken 8 -10 commits from lower level guys and been ranked higher at the moment. But thats not the goal.
I just don't share that hope as easily. I really like LA and hope he doesn't take offense, I've always considered him a friend. But exactly like with AV, who I also like, you can only repeat what you're told. And I have no doubt he's honest when sharing what he's heard.
But no one has proved infallible and it's folks at UT *saying things are 100% opposite of what they've been for years and years.
I'm giving no one's source the benefit of the doubt when it comes to things being swell at Dysfunction U.
it is the foregone conclusion that we will lose against UGA. Why not play Maurer and Shrout? JG gives us nothing but 3 and outs, turnovers, and maybe a lucky pass here or there. With the other 2 we can at least have a punchers chance.
If we continue down this current path, roster issues will get worse not better. That's the problem with "gotta give him x years no matter how bad the team is, stability matters, etc..." You can blame the precious regime the first year, which is why Pruitt's first class (and Dooleys, and Butchs early classes) was good. When you can't beat teams who currently have less talent and you can't be competitive with teams like UF in your second year, recruits aren't going to come here and the problem will just get worse. Proving you can coach up whatever you currently have, regardless of how bad or good it is, and recruits will come. If you can't utilize the talent you have, new talent isn't going to come.loaded question. we all know what's happening, and has happened, is unacceptable.
in year 5? would expect many, if not all, of hte current roster issues to be resolved and we should be a competitive SEC football team at that point. that could mean a lot of different things. but putting a number on it now would be futile.....
how about win more than you lose? that'd be a good place to start...............jeez.
typically, this is where i fall on this topic as well. i've used the "what needs to be done inevitibly, needs to be done immediately" phrase more than once.Like many here I've hired and fired people and one thing I learned the hard way is once u have determined a mistake was made on a hire, rectify immediately.
It does neither party any good to delay the act..
The judge dismissed a Misdemeanor Domestic Assault charge against sophomore defensive back Bryce Thompson. Thompson appeared in a Knox County courtroom for a hearing Monday morning.
The plaintiff decided to not pursue charges. The charges were placed after an incident at Stokely Hall on campus last month involving his girlfriend.
She said the two were in a loud argument, but that Thompson never touched or hurt her.
So losing seasons this year and the next 2, all of which I agree with, then 7-5 in year 5? That's completely unacceptable IMO.loaded question. we all know what's happening, and has happened, is unacceptable.

I think it means we know that the firing a coach every 3 years model doesnt work out just as much. Its bet to see what a coach can do in year 5 at this point than be at "year 0" every 3 years. CFB is not the NFL, you cant just flip a team in 2 years. It's better to keep a coach around long enough to have a roster with juniors and seniors who participated in a strength programs so if we do have to make a change atleast the new coach will inherit a program with able bodies. If the best arguments for keeping a coach are “gotta keep this top 20 recruiting class” and “well the next hire will be worse” that just lets me know no one believes this is going to work out.
