I honestly would be shocked if CPF hasn't had "conversations" with people. I hesitate to use the phrase 'put out feelers' because that seems like if the right guy said yes that CPF would make a change. And I don't think we are at the point yet. And I don't think we should be either. I think we need to give CJP time. But I'd be surprised if there weren't at least some "what if" conversations taking place.
We can only pray this is happening. Because if we win two games and decide to make a change, I hope we already have our next head coach signed and ready soon after.

So let's say this season ends in a 3-9 result. Other 2 wins are over UAB and Vanderbilt. Season ticket sales which have been struggling somewhat already will take an absolute nose dive. Recruiting will be lucky to finish in the top 25. I have to believe as crazy as many think it sounds that a change will be made. I thought that was absolutely impossible when this season began but without a doubt believed that this was going to be a 6-6 season at worst.
A change would have to be made. The revenue lost would be substantial from ticket sales and donations. Even though the buyout would be high, it would be worth it compared to what they would lose. IMO

My new rule for predicting season win totals. Look at schedule and determine how many wins I believe are possible.

Then reduce that number by 4

Saddest thing I heard from a friend yesterday and it hurt

He said to me “a generation of fans are being lost. Our kids will never care about Tennessee football like we do”

Very true I am afraid

I just can’t imagine, in this scenario, that recruiting is going well enough to warrant that Pruitt is retained.

The guy would be 8-16 through two years and on the hottest seat in football. Very few good recruits are choosing to step foot in that situation.

Yeah, no "name" coach is coming here. Too much risk. If Pruitt doesn't make it, we gotta hire a proven program builder even if he isn't necessarily setting the world on fire at his current job. Let him get the program back to respectability, and if he can't take the next step, then we're in better shape to get the next guy. To me that's the biggest thing and even more important than Xs and Os. Just get a guy who can build a team and a culture.
Wait.... I'm not saying we fire CJP yet. However isn't this exactly what most of us said when we hired him?

Sadly it’s time to think about how much $ it will cost us to buy ourselves out of playing OU next season. We have ZERO business playing that game

Jr said to me yesterday “Dad thank you for taking me to the SECCG in 2007. It will be the only one in my lifetime.”

People on Twitter are already tweeting #EmptyNeyland... Fans need to support the young players and JJ who are giving their all for Tennessee Football.
This is insane. I get the theory about getting the administrations attention with or wallets but that hurts the kids way more than the administration. I an a season ticket holder because I support the Power T and what it stands for and means. I don't have love the coach, the QB or our record to be enticed to go to Neyland.

@BassmasterVol at it again I see

News flash

Many many many head coaches bail out QBs when they clearly aren’t in command by calling a TO from the sidelines. Just like Mullen did yesterday.
Keep making excuses for JG if you want man. The QB not only has control over snapping the ball, but also the ability to call a timeout. We literally just came out of a tv timeout. JG checked something at the line with 10 seconds on the play clock, he then backed up, looked like he was going to snap it, and then decided to move the running back up. If he doesn't do the last adjustment he gets the snap off. But then again, he would have to have a miniscule amount of awareness in order to have known the play clock was nearing zero. You can blame the coaches for giving JG too much control of at-the-line adjustments, but not for the delay of game there. How the hell could they know he wasn't about to snap it

What??

I blamed JG AND Bama Pruitt. They both have zero command of their teams
