Would Obama be a part time President?

Nah, he'll spend 24/7 turning the USA into a community of unarmed, broke, caring and sharing zombies.

A few he didn't feel were worth his time to vote.

4/3/08 - Vote 87: S RES 501: S. Res. 501; A resolution honoring the sacrifice of the members of the United States Armed Forces who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not Voting

4/24/08 - Vote 111: S 1315: Burr Amdt. No. 4572; To increase benefits for disabled U.S. veterans and provide a fair benefit to World War II Filipino veterans for their service to the United States. Not Voting

9/23/08 - Vote 205: H R 6049: H.R.6049 As Amended; Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act of 2008 Not Voting

Funny that John McCain wasn't present and was listed as "Not Voting" for each of the examples you highlighted....

Votes by John McCain | Congress votes database | washingtonpost.com

It's called campaigning...not an issue....nature of the beast.

Perhaps you better check the date on the CNN article.

Obama quit voting last year.

I stand by my statement...you cited three examples of Obama's absence...and I suggest that you check McCain's status on those votes. None of the votes you highlighted were from last year, so the CNN article is not relevant to those votes.

So...do you think that Obama was not campaigning during his missed votes? Was McCain?

Maybe we're going to get a 2-for-1 like the Clintons, and Michelle Obama is going to be President the rest of the time.

I spent a few minutes to look into the votes. McCain missed 65% of the votes during this period, compared to Obama's almost 80%. That difference is about 12 votes. It seems that the largest difference in their voting patterns happened over a 3 day period in October, the 16th-18th, where Obama missed all 8 votes on the 16th and 7 on the 18th...while McCain made all 8 on the 16th and 3 on the 18th. A quick search showed that Obama was in Iowa on the 16th campaigning.

It is obvious that campaigning pretty much means that any successful candidate will miss too many votes.

kind of hard to vote with the President 95% of the time when you miss 65% of the votes, isn't it?

At least a part time president would double the hours the current administration logs.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

TennTradition, thanks for setting things straight. I have Savage on ignore for a good reason, but I'm glad you didn't let his naive, disingenuous dig spread any further.

I take it you are impressed with Bush's work ethic.

Funny, I could have sworn this thread was about Obama. No mention of Bush at all in the title or anything? Go figure? Seems to me, like Joe Biden, when the gloves come off against Obama, the die hard dems resort back to bashing Bush. That's a great tatic! :good!:. Reeeaaaalllllll productive.

I assure you it has been productive.

You can't believe that Obama is winning based upon his ludicrous fantasy platform or his record, can you? Has to be something else prodding him forward. What might that be?

Bingo BPV, but to the educated eye, is that really how we want our Nation to be lead? Lets assume that the youth of America are ignorant enought to buy into this, "Lets make fun of Bush cause its cool" concept and vote for this socialist moron (and they are). Now, 4 years from now, when things are screwed up so bad that they realize the mistake they made, are those "Bush jokes" still funny? I bet not.

Lets not elect someone who, when pressed, resorts back to picking on the current admin. And I'll add this, McCain has done it too, but it is certainly not the #1 option to go to when deciding on "come backs" or rebuttal.

According to MCCain, Obama is the reason for all the problems in Washington, now you're telling me Obama is never there. Which one is it?

It could have been about McCain being a part time president and I would have made the exact same observation.
