Any chance that it's upset Saturday across the country?

Lots of 12:00 starts, 11:00 if you're truly from the south!! Lots of tough matchups for ranked teams! I believe there will be 4 or 5 upsets this weekend including the Vols whipping Fl on their home field. My other ridiculous upset pics are that either LSU, Auburn or GA finds a way to lose this weekend.
LSU ain’t losing to vandy

BYU was not an upset? You wouldn't know it by the Sunshine Pumpers on this board...But honestly, when an SEC is not favored to win against BYU, this year, last year, next year, something is upset, in this case TN FANS!
BTW: line odds prior to the BYU game:
Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Tennessee is favored at home, as the Volunteers are getting odds of -3.5 points against BYU. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 51.5 points. The public betting currently has 62 percent going on Tennessee as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
I have always thought that if you were favored to win, and lost, that's an upset. What do you define as an upset?
Being -3.5/+3.5 is basically an even matchup.

You have difficulty in understanding the term "FAVORED", and what it means to have the betting public place 62% of their money on one team or another. If you are favored by even one point, and you do not win, that is an upset. But as you believe, 3.5 point spread means nothing, then are you saying that sportsbook should pay you even if you don't cover??? I'd love to be in Casino where you demanded to be paid, because in your mind, it was basically an even matchup, and figures mean nothing!!really, I'd love to see that!

Just to add to my earlier post, here is the definition as it appears on DOC'S sports betting service page:
If you hear the term "upset" being used to describe a sports game it refers to a result where an underdog has defeated a favorite and won a game outright.

An underdog in sports betting is the team or individual deemed less likely - first by the linemakers and then by the betting public - to win the game. You can tell which team is the underdog either by looking at the pointspread or the moneyline - just look for the +. In the pointspread an underdog might be something like +3.5, which means that a bet on them wins if they win the game or lose by three or fewer games. The favorite in that situation would be -3.5. In the moneyline an underdog could be something like +160, which means that someone who bet $100 would make a profit of $160 if they were to win the game. Unlike the pointspread, it doesn’t matter how much a team wins or loses by when betting on the moneyline - a win is a win.
Hope this helps, and BTW, may I suggest you study various betting strategies before you place a bet, as you seem very confused.

The bookies have to put a line on it for the bet. Betting and moving a money line to a 62% average by fans means nothing by definition of upset. By your definition if a team +1 wins you consider it an upset. I do not. Ga St was an upset. BYU game could have went either way and isn't a shocking upset.

Quite frankly it does not matter, at all, what you consider to be an upset or not. It really only matters what Every Sports Book in the world considers to be an UPSET. Really, just because you don't think you should stop at red lights, doesn't mean a thing, the rest of the driving public, LEO and the Courts will think you are wrong. BTW, It is not MY Definition, it is the standard- by which all sports books run, and have always run, and will always run. If not, everyone would get paid, on every money bet, because, in their opinion, they were right!!!

I could care less. A team winning a game that's +1 isn't an upset, it's common sense.

Winning against someone ranked #9 when you're ranked #80 and +14 is an upset.

Sir it is obvious you don't care what the term "Upset" means to everyone else in the world, especially those that put their money where their mouth is, it only matter what it means to you, You're OK, it's everyone else that is screwed up! And yes, regardless of what you think, if a team is favored to win even by one point, does not win, it is an upset-just ask any bookie. It does NOT matter if the favored team is favored by one point or one hundred points, if they do not win, it is an UPSET. You can argue with every expert/dictionary/sports book/bookie all you want, you are wrong.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I understand you're using Vegas as the rule but standing by a water cooler on Monday nobody ever calls a +1 team win an upset. Nor does ESPN or sportscasters.

The well from which many here draw their hope is bottomless. No matter our last win in the swamp was 2003. No matter the 14 point spread. No matter the abysmal performance in 2 of our 3 games. The hope continues to be renewed. I admire all of you who can divorce yourself from reality long enough to continuously find hope.

We will be thrashed tomorrow.
I'll never understand why so many people set themselves up for disappointment. I'm hopeful for a win and would readily eat crow, but I'm with you, I believe this one will be ugly.

It might’ve been an upset, but not as big as BYU over USC. USC was ranked.
