In what world would you take our DB's over UF's? I have even stated they are not what they typically are, but still much better than what we are trotting out.

Our Teams and WR's are the only definitive advantage I see.

I am assuming Thompson is playing btw

I’m taking experience over a kid that hasn’t started at qb in 7 years

you're all over it bass. agree 100%. having said that, i think that their front 7 is an advantage, and really the biggest advantage for either side in this game. that's a big deal.

and we really don't know who wins out with our front 7 vs. their off front. as you said, we're not great against the run, they're not great at running the ball...someone will win that battle.

we will HAVE to.

siap, the other match up that gets me to the edge of my seat is their WR against our secondary. but....will it matter? new qb and who knows what kind of pressure we put on him.

the wrinkle that i'm concerned about is trask running.....we're not really talking about that.....i think that's a thing, and something to watch.

How do our receivers stack up vs their dbs? Considering JG doesn’t go BYU JG?

a lot depends on who's playing for UF. if CJ henderson is out still, that's a + for us. they're starting safety is out for the 1st half. there should be opportunities for us.

but their DB's are good. and our WR's are good.

having said that.....i have no idea how JG plays and if he'll have time to make it a difference, but i think if you're wanting to watch good competitive football, when we have the ball, pay attention to how those two groups go at each other. especially Jennings and whoever draws him lol.....

i'd like to see him catch one over the middle and just truck somebody......

if you're asking me who has the advantage in that match up, i'd call it a push, w/maybe a slight lean to us given the injury/suspsension situation for them.

Agree. The bad thing is it doesn’t matter if you a huge advantage at WR if you don’t have anyone to get them the ball.

If they have a clear advantage on both sides of the offensive line then they will win. It’s simple.
yeah, but they don't. at least not "clear on both sides".

their OL has questions....so does ours. they just have more answers in their front 7. we don't necessarily have to be lights out to win our side of that match up. but we do need to win it.

To be fair I think our OL is still such an unknown I think their perceived advantage in that area might be over blown.
Yeah, but that’s not the way football works. It’s not our OL vs their OL.

If their OL is clearly better than our DL (it might be) and their DL is clearly better than our OL (it is) then they will win

Who here thinks Rocker and Weinke won’t be here next year? They didn’t get extended like Nieds, and this is the last year of their contracts along with YAC.
If we lose to UF and say Miss. St. I think there is a good chance they won't be here in November.
