Maurer TD

He was allowed. Poor decision making. He has a lot to learn.
You are clueless about "poor decision making". Your cult idol does it all the time and you can't see it.

Maurer was disappointing. I expected him to throw more and show some decisiveness. Shrout was decisive. His problem was execution which can usually be coached up.

JG hit mostly wide open receivers... and was still late several times with the ball. All three of those TD's would have been defended by an FBS D. His "decision making" is still the #1 thing holding this team back. The announcers talked about it before the game. They talked during the game about his habit of overanalyzing and not being able to get past the last play.

As I've told you for more than a year now, JG has great physical talent but has not come along mentally. The UTC game didn't prove anything different. If he does that vs UF or even Vandy... then maybe that points in the right direction.

is the best qb starting, yes or no?
Still the wrong question. The right question is whether the starter is playing well enough to beat good opponents and whether he's reached his ceiling. The follow up question is whether one of the other two if given the opportunity can play at a higher level.

After losing to the 10th and 11th worst opponents on the schedule, what is UT playing for? JG is a graduate. Very likely he'll transfer before next season. Why not play for the future?

That's not accurate.

The bigger issue long term IMO is none of these QBs as they currently sit would sniff an offer from any elite programs like Bama.

Guarantano had the rankings but, for a number of reasons, is a bust at this point.

This program isn't going to turn the corner until they sign and actually develop an elite QB along with signing multiple elite linemen on both sides.

Why would JG transfer?

If he loses the starting job to Bailey?
That would be the only case and would mean that HB is probably pretty good. It also would mean that Maurer and JT likely would transfer out as well leaving Vols with just HB and the Maryland transfer who is seemingly to me better than both BM and JT.

No shocker that BM wasn’t a Heisman candidate yet but I still think he gives us more options when in the game. Saw some Freshman mistakes and if CJP thinks he ain’t ready I guess we will have to trust him. His job is the one possibly in question if he doesn’t get it right......

You keep blaming someone else, Pruitt told Bob after the game that throw was a bad decision on BM. He said JG made the same poor decision on his 1st throw. Whiners always try to lay the blame on someone else.
I’ll blame the player that busted the play. He literally had 3 pass plays called all day and I’d be willing to bet you’re one of those that feel Pruitts evaluations are now completely justified

Maybe

But JG needs to show up and be a leader EVERYGAME. We should be 3-0.

Why did it take for them to let another QB on the field for Gaurantano to finally play with some urgency???

That's nerve wracking! You practice like a god and then come out and crap the bed in the game??

Next week is going to tell us a lot about Brian Maurer. I don't believe for one second JG has turned a corner....
