He has a preening, John Adams thing going...attempted nice version. I don’t like his style, I think he’s fake as **** and he’s a major reason I don’t subscribe to the Athletic. That’s my take and I don’t have to defend it. Now go make some pretty pics for us on your computer thingamajob. 😏

Haha thanks for sharing your take, I won’t request you defend it. I’ve got to get back to my computer thingamajob now.

JG is not the reason we lost to Georgia State nor is he the reason we lost to BYU. He has not been good - I’m not going to argue with you that he has - but the Tennessee Volunteers should be able to run the ball right up the middle 75 times and beat Georgia State. He was bad in the BYU game - but we still win if the defense doesn’t let a pass go over their heads or stops BYU’s offense in either overtime period.

People are blaming the QB because it’s easier than blaming the coaching staff. Period.

I’m with giving another QB a shot. But Tennessee should have won both of those games regardless.
I find it hard to blame a Defense and Coaches that only gave up 1 TD in regulation. Especially since that TD came off of an interception by JG. They gave up one bad play that did cost us the game. Also in college OT the opponent starts in field goal range... practically in the red zone... Keep up your shtick though. Bottom line is QB play is subpar and scoring points is kinda important... especially since he had time to throw. We didn’t give up a sack... BYU was all on JG and AT no way to spin it.

meh, i guess cutting off media access because they won't write nice things about you (when its absolutely not deserved over the last 10 years) sounds like some weenie **** to me.

I can't speak for Pruitt, but I would settle for them writing some objective things. Precious little of that.

I'm old enough to remember when Michigan State got blown out by BYU in 2016 and finished 3-9 on the year. Their "marquee" win that season was over Notre Dame in week 2. Notre Dame finished 4-8 that season, and lost to the Naval Academy along the way.

Both Michigan State and Notre Dame won 10 games the following season.

Hang in there boys.

Personally.JG didn’t beat auburn last year or Kentucky that was pure defense stopping Kentucky’s run and just doing enough to hold on.if you take those games away combined with the 0-2 start I think he’s benched.Auburn and Kentucky bought him time.
Agreed other position groups in those two games made him look better than he truly is and bought him time.

Aside from being annoyed with having to do a contractually obligated call-in show instead of reviewing film or coaching ball, I don’t get the impression Pruitt has thought much about the objectivity or substance of media in general anywhere he’s been. It’s a thing I like most about him. His twitter account is clearly the work of an assistant, he hates the call-in show and press conferences, he just wants to ball.

I miss the off-season when all the FF people stayed in the FF and didn’t bring their hot takes to the RF.

I get they both fall under the same board technically, but it’s like 2 different worlds.

Yes, but to be clear I emphatically do support CJP's policy of closing practices. At its least worst it's a distraction, but in our case it's an open invitation to a group intending to start as many controversies as possible. It's not his job to help twits tweet.

On this, we agree.

I don't particularly care one way or another, but i don't believe he's shutting media out to protect strategies or to keep bad things from being written, which was my point. i think its more about reducing distractions and the frequency of instances of having to talk to people he's totally disinterested in talking to which, frankly, i wish i had the power to do in my day-to-day.
