I think the O line improvement has a lot to do with Chaney
You could be right, impossible to know. But I've stated many times here before - Friend's OLs always show good progress from Y2 and on. This matches up with his track record. I don't think anyone could have fixed our OL in 9 months. But hes now had time, s&c, etc and we legitimately look pretty decent. Still young and Trey is limited. This group could be a real strength come November.

It Fulmer had gone with Leach last year. Are we in a better or worse spot right now?
Everyone is going to say better but we have zero idea.
His first 3 years at WS were crap. If you're changing the entire system, it can take longer than say what Dabo did.

Well I doubt we would have reeled in a top 10 class. And leach takes time to get things going. I think wed have the same growing pains regardless. Either route I think would need 3-5 years to build out.

I look at guys like gray, wanya, Darnell, HT, Harrison... Etc...

And these are the right of like kind of players. The staff in general is the right kind of staff.

I can't defend the results.

I just still find it very difficult to believe that given a "fair" amount of time... That this won't get where it's supposed to be.

"Fair" is subjective... But I think we all know more about the real shape of the roster now...

Ugh.

Idk who was responsible but I thought the O line looked good on Saturday

I agree we have no idea. This came about after a conversation with a friend who is all the way out after GA ST. For the last 2 weeks all I've heard is how much of a better apot we would be in with Leach

JG was decent last year. He has certainly regressed. I think Helton had the right idea - have him play within a system of constraints. Now it's all open to him and he isn't able to handle it.

Just one metric of regression - he only had 3 picks all of last year. Now he has 2 in 2 games and could easily have 5. He rarely threw into coverage last year and now it's like he is gung ho and reckless, or simply doesn't see it.

JG may not be very good, but I think he can at least manage in a simpler system. Seems like it is the best adjustment that can be made for him right now. Needs to get out of his head.

Fwiw I think the backups will get PT vs utc. 1 of them would need to absolutely kill it to prove something, otherwise I don't see them benching JG. Everything I've read is maurer and shrout are nowhere near ready. That said some guys are just gamers. Neither showed much in the Spring game, but it's been half a year...who knows? But someone will have to earn their trust, because despite what fans say, it can always be worse - Peterman vs Florida comes to mind. I'd be ecstatic if one of them balls out and turns this ship around. Whatever it takes.

Short term better but I don’t think Leach would have long term success here. At least not at the championship level he wouldn’t. Pruitt, even though I drunkinly said fire him Saturday, is the guy long term IMO.
Yeah after ive had time to cool down I'm going to back off Pruitt some. But I need to see results wether its recruiting or Wins. We arent rebuilding to beat BYU and GA St were rebuilding to win the SEC
