What's crazy about that is you have 1 vs 1 on the right side. And 3 vs 5 on the other.

Some of JG’s problems are pre-snap. A QB can quickly go through progressions because he understands the defense before the ball is snapped and should have a feel where his guys will be. It’s when good QB’s say the game has slowed down for them.

He should know that the left side in this play has more defenders than the right. Even if it’s not caught by his WR to the right, there is a greater chance it’s incomplete.

Quick hypothetical: how much would a Florida win change your perception of the season so far?
If it happens it would give the team a ton of confidence. ALA and UGA are going to be L's but that would have to give them confidence against the rest.

AS far as being a fan. Would still suck knowing we blew the first two games against nobodies, but if we finished 6-6 and a win over UF I could live with it and recruiting would probably be where it needs to be

Anyone who was still on board with him being the coach after the Oklahoma and Florida games, which was 95% of this forum. Hell, some people were still on board with keeping him after he lost to Vanderbilt in year 4.
There is a huge difference between drinking someone's bath water and not calling for their immediate firing. Nuance is your friend.

The bottom line is coaches don't win games, players do. If you aren't signing ballers and studs every year like Bama, GA, Auburn, LSU, Texas AM then the losing will continue! Firing Pruitt is stupid and ignorant at this point. He simply doesn't have the players. We have probably the best staff in the SEC but you can only do so much with what we have. Most of our ballers on the team are freshmen and soph's. We also need coaching stability as well instead of playing musical chairs every year with coaches. I do realize Saban loses coaches about every year but it's easier when you have 4 and 5 stars at every position and their 3rd strings are also 4 and 5 stars.

JG just simply hasn't got any better but in his defense he has had 4 OC and different offense every year he has been here too so I won't bash the kid. He seems to be a good kid and from a good family and I really feel for him because he gives his all but it's simply not working out here at this point. I thought last year he made a turn with the Auburn game and Kentucky game but then went down hill from there and he has got worse this year it seems still can't read a defense and stares at the one WR every pass play and has no clue where the first down marker is.

JG really needs to hit the transfer portal now and get a fresh start for him at a lower D-1 school like Peterman and Dormandy did. Might be best for all parties involved at this point.

If I’m coach the backup QB is starting next game. We know at this point JG isn’t going to help us win games. This is a perfect time to start the backup. JG will most likely move on, and that’s probably what’s best overall for our program.
What scares me though is the thought of another Peterman in the swamp. I think our best bet is lean on the line and the run game and take shots when the play calling gets them in position to wether JG can hit it or not.

You can’t roll with JG imo, he’s toast. I’m sure they will anyway, but at this point you know he’s not going to win a game for you. In fact, it could be argued that he lost the game for us last night with his play.

Peterman was always going to end up wilting under the pressure of playing a good defense. Putting him out there "early" make him that way. He was always that way.

JG is a problem for this team for sure. But what’s so puzzling is he’s not the traditional problem at QB - i.e., can’t make the throws, inaccurate, etc. He just seems to always be a step slow on most route trees.

Which makes him such a tantalizing prospect for OC’s and QB coaches, I’ll bet. Get his timing right and he’s probably really good. This in addition to Shrout nor Maurer being ready really puts the offensive staff in a pickle.

Hopefully they put UTC away quickly so that Shrout or Maurer can get some game time. And hopefully they play really well and take over the position from that point.

No doubt. There were times last nite where you could tell he thought he knew pre snap what he was looking at. Either he cant tell or when its disguised he cant get off his pre snap read to his next options after the ball is snapped.

Last night he checked down or dumped off short of the sticks when he had bigger plays on the table. It's obvious Chaney checked out on him after the pick. The perception was JG did the same.

He has plenty of arm talent. And that's probably why he looks fine in practice.

The issues he is having right now are the ones you see from FR. And while they re probably not ready to run this offense in its entirety, if you re having to hide Jr that looks like a Fr you might as well hide a Fr.

I don’t think it’d be possible for Maurer to play well enough in garbage time against UTC to get the start at Florida. I think if you are going to make the change, Pruitt has to pick the spot and just do it.

If he doesn’t start against UTC, he won’t start against Florida absent injury to JG.

I agree that JG lost the game. I agree JG isn't a very good QB. However if the young guys aren't ready to set protections and make checks into the run game at the line, then JG is the best option
