Practice champion. Bench him. Put in one of the FR. This could be something similar to Dooley’s first year when Bray started after a 2-6 start, and we went on a roll to make a bowl. Not saying we make a bowl, but it has to be better than what we have now. Right??? Play for the future and maybe a few good things happen in the present.

There will be no bowl this year.

Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri are losses.

UAB, South Carolina, Kentucky may be favored now.

End of the season, Vandy could be a tough one if Pruitt has completely lost the team.

Leaving UTC as the only likely win left on the schedule and THAT is depending on how the team/coaches handle this together.

Ugh.

Observations....

Coaching staff is not going anywhere. They can’t. In order to come out of this, we must have continuity. I beleive the coaches we have are good to very good. They didn’t forget how to coach after two weeks. They just need time. Time is what we as fans do not like. But, in this situation, it is my opinion we are going to have to grin and bear what is ahead of us.

We did look better last night and I anticipate that to continue. The only problem is, the competition will start to get MUCH better.

JG.... really locks in on receivers and everyone knows it. This puts pressure on the OL and receivers and we aren’t good enough their yet to compensate. I would think we will start to see some of the freshmen starting to get a look.

This team needs a confidence boost bad. I expect further improvement next week and then who know from there.

Regarding last night....the only question I have is our decisions to continue to go on fourth down when three points is a gimme. I think that was the case on the first drive of the game. Would loved to have had those three. Our special teams are very good....let’s lean on them.

Oh I agree. And I think we are beyond taking chances on coaches now. You have to hire a proven head coach. I wish they would go ahead and get rid of Pruitt. If you know someone is not right for the job, why even prolong it? I think we all just want our program to be respectable again and whatever it costs to get us there, do it.

A lot of it will depend on if this team continues to get better while Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama beats it down. A tough ask for these kids to stay locked in when that happens - especially at 1-7.

If they stay locked in, we can keep getting better and maybe steal one from Vandy or Kentucky to finish the year.

Because it is the coaches job to get points when you can and we didn’t, which cost us dearly at the end. If you don’t trust your QB to ever throw the ball, you have to make a change and that is all on coaching. It sounds like we were playing practice warriors again, which sounds a lot like Lyle. What team in the entire country rotates so many offensive lineman throughout a football game? I do think they played really well though, but let the players develop together that you think are your best five. We were night and day from the first week, but those were two of our easiest games and we are 0-2.

As bad as I hate this whole ordeal I'm not giving up on them. If a recruit can't see the possibilities then they are blind. Horrible start to the season and still a 100k screaming fans. Pruitt just coached his 14th game ever as a head coach, he's got stuff to learn and improve on no doubt. But we need players, more specifically a QB.

Ditto. After last night I need a therapist. I kept expecting something bad to happen and it did. I have been conditioned. Watching this is stressful. Feel sorry for vendors trying to make a buck next week at a half full stadium. CFB is unwatchable rhe rest of this season. Wish I lived back in Colorado instead of surrounded by Dawg, Bammer, Gators, and AU fans.

I want to believe but I am beat down. Grit isn’t in the culture of Tennessee any longer. I do believe there is talent within this freshman class but to be honest I would alienate them from the upperclassmen. To see these types of plays happen at least once a year is baffling.

I’ve long defended Guarantano but that’s over. If the backups aren’t good enough run the wildcat. Something has to change and benching JG has to be the start. The thing about him is he makes multiple plays per game that leave you speechless. So frustrating

The biggest play that swing the game IMO

The reverse on 4 and 1. Stupid Stupid Stupid.
Chaney is making me question his thought process in critical moments. Called a good game but in the clutch not his best.

Bumpus played 1 hella of game. After all the position changes it paid off last nite. Also OL looked a trillion times better. Still don’t like rotating the guys the way they did. Really think this has to ultimately due with Trey health. Everyone talks about JG but #2 on defense has no processed AT ALL.
