After the team quit on Dooley against Vandy, when Chaney took over as interim for the last game against Kentucky they played their most inspired football of the year by far. That was really the only game all year that the defense showed up.I think Chaney is a good contingency to step in as needed. He's done it before.
And some are blithering idiots, that’s ridiculous. He goes off on a lot of what the fans have pointed out. Calls some folks out directly and never has been that critical before. He’s really upset about Saturday as most of us are. Some believe it’s a narrative set up by Fulmer to lay the ground work for the nxt man
Can we STOOOPPP with the contingency plans and the next coach talk?
The man has coached 13 games, and his upperclassmen are still Butch’s players from a 4-8 season.
Good grief y’all.
If this season ends up being 3-9 or worse, they'll consider it. $9m is actually a small price to pay when the alternative is 60k paid attendance.Pruitt isnt going anywhere people. His buyout is like 9 million. We arent going down that rabbit hole again.
I’d say Fulmer has to have a pretty good idea of whether this is going to work. He’s coached enough winning football to know whether Pruitt can get it pointed in the right direction. Relatively speaking, Pruitts buyout is pretty light.Phil Fulmer definitely has to be thinking of future probabilities
It is a shame UT can't hire a coach that is capable of making players their own or getting them to buy in.
It's Fulmers players when Kiffin was hired.
It's Kiffin's players when Dooley was hired.
It's Dooley's players when Jones was hired.
Now it's Jones fault Pruitt can't get through to his team and has been humiliated the past 3 games.
If they lose Saturday night I think the Saturday after attendance will take a hit with it being a noon game....jmoIf this season ends up being 3-9 or worse, they'll consider it. $9m is actually a small price to pay when the alternative is 60k paid attendance.
Remember Dooley's year 3? The paid attendance for that year's home games is below:
87,821 (Georgia St)
102,455 (Florida)
81,719 (Akron)
102,455 (Alabama)
84,189 (Troy)
89,272 (Mizzou)
81,841 (Kentucky)
Sometimes the loss in revenue forces the admin to make a move they wouldn't have otherwise. Keep in mind the paid attendance for the Georgia St game was 85,503 and the Mizzou game was 88,224. Pruitt is already slipping into the 80s.
