Just goes to show you can’t trust anything that comes out of the UTAD from admin to coaches to players. Everything is eye test only and we saw the truth on Saturday.
eh. he probably believed what he said two weeks ago. why shouldn't we? there was a lot of positivity around the program. the "vibe" was good.

i can say this though..........if there ever was a case to be made for the "belive it when i see it" crowd.....uh, it got made.

If we weren’t responding on the practice field after Saturday it doesn’t matter what he says we ain’t getting fixed

I'm going have to log off for a while. Pruitt has said repeatedly practice hasn't been a problem. Doug Matthews said Saturday was 98% on the coaches. Brent Hubbs, Pat Ryan. Jeff Francis, and Erik Ainge have said similar things. Doug was adamant in his defense of the players yesterday on 180. He insinuated Jauan Jennings was more of a man than Jeremy Pruitt for the way he handled the situation. Pruitt is slight of hand throwing his team under the bus because he's a pussy and can't handle the heat he's brought down on himself. And a lot of folks on here seem to be buying his BS.

Everybody I’ve listened to both “inside” and outside the program has to one degree or another really trashed the coaching effort last week. I’m not sure Jeremy thinks it was wrong. I think Fulmer thinks it was wrong and I think there a lot of players on our team who think it was wrong. I damn sure think it was wrong.

Here’s where I think our problem would be. We think we know Jeremy had issues with some bigwhig at Alabama, such that according to our “respected” source he would never be allowed to take the head job there, regardless of whether or not he was successful here or elsewhere. I’ve always surmised that he HAD to leave Florida State after only one year and then the stories that we didn’t want to believe about his stint at Georgia sort of indicate a pattern of behavior. He’s often described as extremely arrogant, among other things.

We have people here who tell us that we can’t afford for him to fail, literally can’t afford it, and that’s probably not just about the money involved. They say that we have people at UT that are working behind the scenes to try to fix the things that became even more apparent last Saturday. But what if he tells Fulmer to FO? What if he tells Charlie Anderson to FO?

I'll see you guys later. I get too angry to stay on here when our players are getting trashed because of the failure of their head coach.

It is amazing how Pruitt’s entire tone has changed.

Remember before the season how pumped up he had everyone by saying how much he liked this team. Loved their attitude. Loved their effort.

He had this confidence.

Now, one game later, he is crapping all over them. Which I don’t mind at all. They need it and some need to leave if they don’t want to do things the right way.

But his confidence is gone.

Could he not tell? Was he faking it to try and get them to believe?

Maybe he truly had confidence in this team before Saturday? Yeah I get it that his plan didn't really help matters get better, but a good amount of the players were not trying to keep Pruitt's confidence in them either.

i think fans just want the team to be goodish. and the quickest way for that to happen is for the current head coach to get us there.

just like with Butch, it would have been better for the program had he been the guy. he wasn't, and it ended they way it should have, albeit probably a year too late.

if what you're talking about is the case, then it will end the way it's supposed to as well, and then we press "reset" on the rebuild clock.

i will say this, if there is, or it arises, tension that gets to that point behind the scenes, that, coupled with the crappy on field product, is one of hte ways you get to the "they had no choice but to fire him" scenarios.

i don't want that to happen. but not because i'm a pruitt fanboy. because it'd be better for the program if it didn't, and he turns out to be great.

likewise, it could wind up being better for the program that we cut bait and start over....but that then becomes a 5 year decision we all have to live with......................a-freaking-gain. and the thought of that just sucks.

rock...TN fans...hard place.

What would you rather believe, that your head coach lies to try to get his players to buy in, or that he can’t judge talent effectively enough to know that his team would get steamrolled by a bottom tier Sun Belt team?

“Yo, wut, listen up

Is it too much to ask to be average
Some of this ridicule is just savage
Tired of being embarrassed every year
Watching a team that gives in to fear

Wish they would take some pride
Show some fire in their eyes
We do have a few dogs just so you know
At least Jauan Jennings and Henry To’oto’o

But a few is not enough
Need some other guys to step up
Show us that they really care
Make the Mormons pee in their special underwear”

Word up

“Uh, what, white boy rap time, yo

The Vols have me feeling manic
Like I’m about to panic
But Jeremy isn’t frantic
Intern jones was sycophantic

Guys just need to show some heart
Step up and do their part
Represent the Volunteers
Make the Mormons shed some tears”

Word to your mothers

Fulmer will pull a Barry Alvarez if he has to. Bank on that.

I agree with you. I side with the players as well

Just making sure you know the post you quoted was in response to the op saying Pruitt was now commenting publicly because practice hasn’t been good

I don’t buy

Lol not sure who else to blame other than yourself and your staff if practice isnt going well. You literally control every aspect of it.

Honesty I think the tone coming from him in the last 24hours is because someone got in his ear and told him the fans wanted to hear the coach blame everyone including the players. I think he’s just saying want some want to hear

It's way too early in the Jeremy Pruitt era for this strange of a vibe around the program. It certainly doesn't feel right.

The current animosity from the local press, fractured team, departures, coach throwing players under the bus, low attendance etc... is the feel from a coach 3-4 years into a failing coaching stint.

This guy is only 13 games in and it feels like this
