Yea that makes no sense. He’s already our best coverage LB by a mile. He’s only gonna get better too.
yeah, there were plays where he looked like he was waaaay ahead of the curve.

in fact that play that Warrior got that BS PI call that kep their 2nd scoring driver started, HT took the RB in coverage out of the back field. it wasn't that he he did it. it was that he was already doing it as the play got started. he read it, recognized it and took that kid out of the play before it ever started.

simple thing really, but it really just stood out to me. i'm going to say this at the risk of putting too much stock in to the one play....but i'm Panther fan in Charlotte and i've watched LK for a while, and for that one play (there were others too) it looked like something i've seen LK do a million times. and it's because LK is such a smart football player that stands out.

imo, i think you could at least say you see "flashes" of being that kind of "smart football player" already.

that's a rare fish, unless Cali or Mex. Still think that's a rarity.

ok, ill bite...bass fished my whole life, grew up watching Hank Parker & Roland Martin....& Bill Dance....listenin' to John Anderson. Had the pin up girls on the wall, next to pics of Ranger & Stratos Boats. Then i found a fly rod...thank Flip Pallot for that.

id love to catch a 10 lb anything, but, 6lb small mouth caught on a fly you've tied, brings a smile. Never forget that feeling.
I've been fortunate enough to catch several over 9-10 lbs the past 5-7 years, but the key is definitely fishing for big fish. If you are truly chasing a 10+ pound fish your best best is going to be fishing an Alabama Rig in winter/early spring. that's when i'm catching the majority of my 7+ pound fish in West TN. No clue what it is but an Alabama rig catches monster bass like nothing i've ever seen. it truly is like the cheat code of the sport, which is why they're outlawed on the pro tours these days.

Not getting after it in a game against an inferior opponent warrants a response from the coach. I assume he did this publicly after taking the brunt over the weekend because some weren't responding on the practice field. I am sure the social media gaffes by players further made this necessary.

If this lack of effort was a lone occurrence then i would have no problem with it. But the last 3 games this has been an issue. If your team isn’t any good at all but they are flying around, being scrappy, and still losing or he’ll even getting blown out. Then it would be totally different

Oh 100%. Yes he’s fast and smart And will continue to improve. I’m not taking him off the field unless he’s injured. LK is obviously an amazing player and that comparison would be a dream come true but yea i agree man.

He made a poor choice and retweeted a bad joke. He didn't hit his gf. He hasn't been accused of raping anyone. He didn't fail a drug test. Basically, he just said something dumb. Put that into perspective.
No offense brother because I obviously never met you and only know anything about you through comments, just like pretty much everyone on here, so I'm not attacking you. However I feel like the "no big deal" is what's wrong with this team and to some degree the society we currently live in. You're exactly right, he didn't do any of the things you listed. But he disrespected his university, the coaches, and more importantly his teammates. The guys hes supposed to be willing to go to war with.

That's a big deal.

yeah...he was just the first player i thought of as i watched that play. that's all. definitely not saying he's LK right now lol.

but HT is gonna be good, i feel real confident in saying that.

Things i want to see vs BYU

-more creativity in the run game. Unbalanced lines, counters, touch passes/jet sweeps. Maybe some quick speed options. Also use the passing game as an extension. Need more screens to slow pass rush down and help OL

-split back formation with grey and chandler on the field at the same time. Would also like to see Ty in the slot some.

-at least 5 shots downfield idc idc they are competed or not but we have to keep them from sitting underneath and clogging the box.

-don’t take out Henry T. Ever.

-bring more pressure through the middle. Don’t rely on slow developing corner blitz

Roger on the Bama rig.

More Carolina rig guy.
Haha carolina rig is probably the most classic staple of catching bass in the hot summer, without a doubt. but when fall rolls around i'm scanning ledges with a Bama rig in my hand until the big one bites. the downside is if you break off your lure you just lost about $30-$35

Good things but the only thing I want to see is a group of young men playing like a crazed wounded animal

I think having Bituli on the field at the same time as HT will help tremendously. HT was directing the D as a freshman. He started off looking fast but then started getting in his own head. I think HT co-pioliting the defense and being able to focus more on his own assignments will help him as he adjust.

That brings up the question, what the hell has Ignot and Reid learned over the last two years? They should be embarrassed that someone who showed up in June understands the defense better than them. Its unacceptable on both them and the coaches that they arent more prepared to lead the D.

im fishing Nolichucky deep runs in Sept looking for sandy areas, fish working bait at end of pool. I used to fish them more...Crig tells me where they are.

Sometimes its all they want.

I rarely if ever fish anything but a fly any more.

Things I would like to see.

-The correct number of players on the field in advance of the ball being snapped.

-If its not too much to ask, I would also like to see them line up in the correct defensive formations.

-Forcing a punt or two and holding them to an occasional field goal in the red zone would be icing on the cake...

Reid and Ignont are just as bad as Jumper was...

Split back formation for sure.....
How you going to get pressure up the middle
I remember Chaney play calling of yesteryear...i remember all the jet sweeps and he kept running them over and over an almost got our running back killed.

Gotta have a passing game down the field Hank....BYU will put men in the box and take the running game away with no passing game down the field

dunno, but i talked about this over the summer.

we're all excited about the "new" kids that have come in but for this season to be anything resebling "good", it was going to have to include a group of guys from that 2017 class stepping up and doing something they're either not expected to do, or something they've not shown the ability to do.

thru one game..........it's still TBD at best on that front imo.

He needs to cool it with that sh**. Do it all you want in the complex or on the practice field, but doing it publicly comes off as excuse making and petty.

It’s obvious at this point his motivation tactics aren’t getting it done. Which is kind of bizarre honestly. At least for the first year or two players will usually buy in and run through a wall for a coach. They did for kiffin, Dooley, and butch. At least for the most part.
Yeah, everything has been bass ackwards.

But at least we got some truth from him yesterday. How quickly the narrative went from “I really like this team and we’re all bought in” to “there’s no one on the defense to be scared of” and “there are some players who have quit and need to get out of our way.”

yeah, this. that's what i don't get.

1) it tells me they don’t think this team is any good - and they think the team is too fragile to know the truth. So they tried to coddle them as much as possible.

2) makes the Ga State game a little bit easier to understand. They played conservative as hell because they knew it would be close. Then we wilted mentally and Ga State felt it and took the momentum.
