Salvage the season? Lol we just had our worst loss in 30 years and nobody seems to care. Yesterday was a nightmare opener. How do you even move on from that...I agree. He's disinterested to the point of rudeness with donors and fans, but we've all been willing to overlook it if that's what it takes to fix football. And his past players seem to admire him, so player rapport is what matters. But hell, he's only being asked to do half his job and he's having trouble with that. I'm hoping he can reach the players and salvage the season enough to keep recruiting afloat.
For a fist time HC, would the school not desire the buyout to increase as time went on? If you learn of lack of ability in earlier years, it would make it easier for turnover. Little buyout in later years makes it easier for a successful HC to bail to another school.
Seems like our administration got suckered again.
Phil’s list was crap, and he also talked to Norvell, who didn’t make the final list somehow. Even if he goes to casinos, would have blown the doors off the “Career DC” theme.Did I think we found the right guy? Absolutely
Is he the right guy? Meh times gonna tell
What stings is Phil’s short list was Pruitt/ Steele/ Mel Tucker... Tucker just destroyed his in state rival in his first game. Maybe Phil got it wrong.. I dunno.
With that being said, it would not surprise me one bit to see Tennessee come out and set the world on fire next week and put up a 52-14 on BYU. Maybe this staff/ players will start coaching/playing pissed off and put a product on the field that’s something to be proud of... time will tell
After yesterday's Sh!tshow every game is his most important. How in the hell do you come out flat and uninspired in your home opener against a weak opponent? Those kids should have been bouncing off the walls . After halftime they should have come out looking pissed and ready to punish someone.BYU may end up being the most important game of Pruitt's career. I think based on that game we will sink or barely stay afloat. Don't see a way recovering if we look like we did again next weekend.
Doesn’t matter. He’s just piling on. His comment is irrelevant to the real story concerning UT football right now
**** you too ass wipe. Spend five figures and get back to me. Ignore button is yours.
Piling on or not it’s an issue. There is no buzz or energy within our program even before the loss. Just show up to work and go home. You have to motivate players. They aren’t getting it done at all and haven’t been since the end of the season last year.
Genuine question. Are you defending yesterday? Should we accept losing to Georgia State type teams now and not complain about it? You sound like part of the problem. There are so many on this board who just feast on the negativity. They don’t even really want the VOLS to be successful. That’s why you see them post so much in difficult times. They come out of the woodwork for these moments.
who did we sucker? he was our best option available other than proven head coaches that wanted the job. none of us have a clue what constraints Fulmer was given, budget, Haslam etc.
at the time Pruitt was a hotter name. i think its pretty obvious that this program was in a lot worse shape than we thought after Butch left....i mean some of his linemen were 250 lbs.
Pruitt is trying to completely re write the script. It was wishful thinking he was the right guy.
We've been kicked in the nuts enough. Rip the bandaid off now. Give Maurer a shot in the first half if he doesn't get it done put in Shrout. If they both fail put in JJ we know he gives two sh!ts.I say start JG for BYU, and if he doesn’t redeem hisself by half time, bench his ass and work toward the future.
