What is the team doing this morning?

Given how they quit last November and their S&C effort this offseason, they made that decision about Pruitt months ago....

It sure would be nice if they would stop adjusting their efforts based on whether or not they like the coaches. We heard this same crap under Dooley, Jones, and now Pruitt. It’s like a soap opera

Didnt look like they really cared. Based on jg comments about not being prepared, they may not have, alot of faith in their coaching staff.
But why? Our players have had various locker room issues with every coach we’ve hired since Kiffin. It’s starting to become a trend.

Maybe the coaching isn’t entirely the problem. My initial reaction is to be furious with the coaching staff, but as mentioned above we do have some proven coaches that we know are good. Maybe Butch created such a mentally weak culture that it might take 4 or 5 recruiting classes to get back to competing.

Six 25+ losses last year most in our history and this is prepared, I don't get it. He is a D coach background too.

I meant prepared in the sense that at least they came out and played hard (minus the last 2 games where they "ran out of gas" ~Fulmer), they seemed to line up correctly for the most part, and beat who they were supposed to beat. Prepared in that sense.

It's not a "liking" a coach thing. It's a respecting the coaches thing. For a decade, our players from 2* PWO to 5* players have not respected our bargain bin hires...

Then they shouldn’t be here. They’re the players, it’s ultimately on them to represent the University on the field. If they don’t like the coaching staff transfer or go the Jalen Hurd route and straight up quit.

And yes, I’m aware we need to have higher quality coaches. But simply not trying just because you don’t like the staff isn’t the way to go.

Hopefully everyone except the kicker and maybe Jennings are running laps, and all the coaches minus the special teams coaches are running gassers.

Then I hope there will be a presser where the coaching staff apologizes to every fan.

I would imagine many on the team watched film tape last night. If not, they're doing it this a.m . I'd bet a months salary on it!!!

I'm agreeing with you, I just dont understand how that happened? Chaney is a proven coach, Tee is proven........hell, I dont think Pruitt is the answer, but he at least had the teams prepared for most of the games last year. Auburn and Kentucky specifically. Where was even a 1/4 of the desire and drive from those games displayed yesterday? It's like everyone was sleep walking. I hope and pray with all of my might that the team literally came out expecting to just truck Ga St (just like we thought) and got knocked on their keesters. I'm hoping this was a wake up call and all this "talent" is going to wake up for the rest of the year. Regardless, this season is marred by this unacceptable loss. I'm ready for Preds and Titans.

Any shelter in a storm....
As for Titans, like the Vols SOS.
As for Preds . Guess you are starved for any kind of a part time winner....

The hardest part for me is, while I always hope we win, this is not a group of players I live and die with. They play soft and seem weak, both mentally and physically. I don't feel like we are going to war with teams anymore. It's more like I hope little Johnny doesn't pout during the game and we have enough juice boxes when it's over.

It’s the culture we live in. And in my opinion, it’s only going to get worse. The offended snowflake syndrome is rampant in society and were going to see the old school butt chewing coaches die off and the new school “pet a kitten/color a picture to express your feelings” coaches rise to the top. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ Just my take.

They got manhandled by a 2-10 team that was predicted to finish last in their conference
They looked slow, soft, and out of shape yesterday....

They got manhandled by 2-10 Sun Belt team

Yea, I read that differently than the way you meant it, but still, I don't know anything about their effort during the off season in the S&C program and if it had anything to do with them not having faith in Pruitt.

What I saw last night wasn't lack of effort in S&C from the off season.

I hope they're out running wind sprints and stair-stepping up the stadium instead of sitting in that 17 degree deep freeze!!!

sucides on the field followed by stadium step runs. Rinse. puke. Repeat.

Anything short of a player called meeting at 5:30AM, followed by an ass chewing by whoever among them has leadership skills is unacceptable. After yesterday’s play I wonder if they are in their safe space with crayons and stuffed unicorns!
Who's going to give the coaching staff the ass chewing they deserved yesterday?
That team played exactly the way they were coached...
UT players are better than what we saw yesterday, no excuse for being on the wrong side of making history yesterday.
Coaching staff made no adjustments to run option at all yesterday. As bad as they were getting beat I would have assigned two guys, one to go after the QB and one to the RB no matter what, if you got assigned the QB you stayed on him, same with the RB. You knew he was running the ball or breaking the corner and tossing it back to the RB.
