So I have not been in the know for UT football as much this season for whatever reasons. I am hearing a lot of 8-4 and 9-3 predictions. I’m not saying that isn’t going to happen, but I’m quite surprised to see that these are many of the predictions on this site. Seeing that we were 5-7 last season, what things have changed/why do you think our record will be that good.

Be as rational or irrational with your posts. I want to hear all the good stuff!

New coach. First full recruitment class of HIS players (I think) defense oriented, no cliches, calls it how it is, wants to play talent over experience etc etc. That alone has me excited for the season. Tee Martin coming home to coach. Just so much good things it'd take so long to write.

I'd say we make a bowl game. And hope we buckle down and play like UT Football of old and at least beat Florida this year and get back in front of Vandy.

Can't expect us to beat Bama or Georgia yet but I'll dang sure be cheering them on and pulling for them and hope they do. Anything is possible. Just got to believe. That's what brings us together.

Lol. I like this one. I do think we have had quite a few tennis coaches in football coach clothing over the past 5-10 years.

Experience at skill positions and QB.

According to Pruitt, OL went into last season with 3 guys over 300 lbs then lost two of them. They enter this year with 11 over 300 lbs. More depth. More competition. MUCH more experience.

BYU may challenge UT but UT is much better prepared to beat them than they were WVU last year.

UK and Vandy should both take a step back.

Two off-seasons with an SEC/NFL caliber S&C coach as opposed to Jones' idiocy.

Defensive "bodies" more in line with Pruitt's defensive philosophy.

Good or maybe really good back 7 on D.


IMHO, the season comes down to how good the completely unknown DL is. If they hold up, this could be a good team.

I need some positivity too. My fiance just wrecked my brand new truck. Like just now she texted me. Yeah, she is fine. This is the second time I have an insurance claim for repair on this truck because of her. This time she side swiped a semi. Last time, her basketball goal blew over and busted the roof. Swear to God, man. It's like I am engaged to Lloyd Christmas. BTW- I have no idea what this thread is about. I just saw the title. Go Vols.

We're undefeated and everybody is still blissful. It will change after the game if we don't win by 42 points, JG doesn't complete 100% of his passes, the OL and DL aren't dominant. Then the moaning and groaning will start.
