from what i saw in Q1 the large polynesian boys on the BYU DL seemed to control the line of scrimmage. Utah offense took to the edges and had early success.

did this change later in the game?

I was focusing on the GT line. Looked a lot like ours the last few years. Reaching out and tagging a defender as he blew by on the way to the QB. Standing with their heads on a swivel watching defenders pour through on both sides. Seeing a RB on the ground then turning around and engaging someone at the very end of the play. Diving on the pile at the very end of the play to look like they were doing something. Just no physicality at all. Disgusting to watch. Clemson on the other hand.....:cool:. Now that's a football team.

Utah gashed BYU up the middle in the 2nd half. Even the BYU announcers on BYU Radio talked about that.

Agreed. I can only imagine what the game thread will be like if a majority of fans are expecting a 30 plus point blowout.

I'm expecting UT to establish a ground and pound type of attack and a lot of rotation along our OLine because BYU will tire in early 4th. I'm glad we finally have some depth on OLine.

Yup, that RB Moss (I think) is legit good and could play in any conf as well as the NFL. Their defense is good as well. Probably a couple of high draft picks. There is a reason they are a dark horse to make the playoffs. I would much rather be playing BYU than Utah next week no doubt

No need to try and imagine. We've seen it every season for the past few years. Sometimes it's a game like the App St a few years ago where we should have lost. Usually it's after the annual UF game meltdown.

We live in the "next year" world at UT. If Pruitt is given time and support, I feel confident he's going to turn things around, but this team is still the same bunch from last year with some new blood sprinkled in. We've waited for the OL to turn the corner seemingly for years now. Same players in some key spots just a year older and a bit bigger. What's inside a player doesn't usually change.

Maybe things change this season, but I don't think it happens this quickly in most cases. Takes time and recruiting. Just waiting to see this roster completely flipped. When that day comes, we'll be know what we have. This Vol fans is keeping his Tenn Cup in place and secure at all times.

This is why I can't look at BYU as a "bad/horrible/trash" team that we'll mop the field with. Utah is a fine team. They'd give any team in the country some problems. I suspect it was more a case of how good Utah is vs how bad BYU looked. Take the cougs lightly and we'll grab an L. It's certainly a game we can and really need to win, but UT had better show up and play lights out.

I didn’t watch the game so not sure if they talked about it, but Utah has one of the best defensive lines in the country. Our guys will likely have a tougher time on defense.

But I am encouraged by the Utah RB racking up 181 yards. That’s a good sign.

I sure hope the players and coaches don't think like some of the fans! All points, games and season will be determined ON THE FIELD! Regardless of predictions and expectations,
the season will play out as it does. All we, as fans, can do is love our Volunteers, cheer them on, and hope for the best. There are good signs from Pruitt, Preseason, of a much improved
2019, But we'll see................................

I'm expecting UT will be able to do whatever they want, its just up to Chaney what he wants to work on and who he wants to get the stats.

Put the crack pipe down please. I saw a very tough, physical, determined football team last night. If we're not focused on that game it could be a very long day for us. Plus, Utah is not chopped liver! BYU played them very tough and Utah is ranked 14th in the country for a reason. Where are we ranked? Yeah, that's what I thought.
