Twitter is so dumb. They are bringing up Tennessee not wanting Schiano. They act like not wanting someone to lead and be accountable for your program should be similar to giving a kid a second chance who never has been convicted of breaking any laws (I dont even think he was charged for anything in high school but idk).

The impression I get from Pruitt is he is no nonsense and honest. He is a teacher and knows how to demonstrate compassion when its needed but will also do the right thing.

Based on all I've heard about Twitter, I'm so glad I'm not on it.

Soap box time, from someone who rarely posts.

I hope at some point our society can gain some perspective of the middle ground instead of the constant taking sides, headlining grabbing, hot take culture we currently have. Reporting and social media/message boards would be much better off. In my opinion (admittedly without knowing any of the people involved or the circumstances), Thompson didn’t do anything that warrants the university or Bryce being crucified or cast away. There’s been no documented or reported physical harm done to anybody as a result of the university or BT’s actions. At the same time, it seems he needs help in anger management, relationships/choosing who to associate with, counseling and/or education on how to diffuse instead of escalate these situations. Hell, the same can be said for about half the population (see divorce rate). Both can be true, as many here have said. Hopefully, Bryce can have a long successful career at UT and make a positive impact on society because of the wisdom he gains from his past actions, and the help of those around him.

Btw, Aubrey eligible is huge for this season! Happy for him and the team.

What I'm reading here about how some in the media are treating the BT thing has me really upset with them. But honest question for those of you who really know, because I don't. Is the media really hammering him for it or are we (the posters posting such and commenting on it) overreacting to how the media is treating this? There are always gonna be a couple who like to stir up trouble. Is that all this is?

Our media is a joke. You really never see headlines like this else. I mean, I haven’t heard anything about the Georgia player who had a dui. I RARELY see anything about Alabama players. I mean, Florida players choke out their tutors and the media let that one go.

100% agree. The talent on this team is undervalued and unrealized because most of it is freshman and sophomores. But there's a bunch of talented Juniors and some Seniors who will show major improvement this fall. There's plenty of talent on the team and it's finally been coached up and bodies have changed quite a bit in a real S&C program. Anything less than 7 wins is a disappointment. Missing a bowl would be catastrophic for the program and Pruitt's future in Knoxville.

Folks can sit here and say, "oh bs, we're not good enough yet. 5-6 wins max." But the reality is that's not good enough and many of those same people acting like 5 or 6 is to be expected this fall will be the same ones calling for Pruitt's head if that happens.

I refuse to believe this team and these coaches can't win 7 games on that schedule.
Making the bowl season is the goal. Doesn't matter how we get there.. just make the bowl. Personally I like 7-5/8-4 but just make the damn bowl season and it's an improvement over the last two seasons of clusterfsck

🙄 Butchna, that’s what the media does. That give you a good headline and they don’t explain it at all. It was a mutual restraint. They found no signs of abuse but wanted them to stay away from each other.
Decent point, but I was addressing this latest incident. At some point you have to acknowledge that he didn’t strike her. If he “needs help”, it doesn’t seem as large a hill as someone with zero impulse control.
