Do the rights of the (falsely) accused matter?

Asking me? Obviously the rights of all accused matter, falsely or rightly accused does not matter...we are talking reactionary parents here though. Legal/civil rights are separate from university review and disciplinary actions. That is the concern iyam, not some silly misdemeanor.

So proud of y'all for not arguing with Bruin..... But I am issuing a warning. A FL fan just came in the library, and I had to be nice! Not sure who I am going to take it out on. My husband is at work so...
On the arguing, typed about 10 words in response and then decided

You're welcome haha.

My office complex has multiple businesses that share the same bathrooms. All of those businesses are employed with neanderthals.

I was trying to do my business today and kept getting distracted. The guy in the stall beside me spent 10 minutes just farting loudly into the toilet. I don’t think there was ever a pause. Just farts. Nothing ever came out. Go to the doctor.

The millennials prefer to walk past the urinals because peeing all over the toilet seat is better.

I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of crossing paths with some guy about once per quarter that I believe is dying from the inside. If you walk into the bathroom after he has used the facilities you’ll find the temperature 10 degrees hotter and there’s no oxygen anymore just sulfur and beef smell. Maybe eat a salad bro.

Had a situation like that many years ago. One particular guy would go in there and absolutely peel the paint off the wall. We jokingly would refer to it as "laying down a fog". As fate would have it, the HR department posted an employee benefit poster related to counseling services. The picture on the poster was a foggy scene from the woods, and the wording on the poster said, "Sometimes the only way out of the fog is to go through it." We relocated that bad boy to the wall in the men's bathroom!

Now Channel 5 in Nashville has a segment on domestic violence on college campuses. And BT was the lead picture. Cmon. Give me a break. I must be missing something. The kid got in an argument and yelled and damaged a gate. Good grief. This society is unreal.
My word! Let’s ruin the kid’s life because he got in an argument with his girlfriend! Our society is a bunch of soft pansies. Fulmer, Pruitt, and the University need to make a stand right now about this and not let it carry out until his court date next week. The longer he stays suspended, the more the media is going to bring it up and make it a much bigger case then it really is.

There really is nothing to argue. If one is deemed unsafe to others they can’t stay even if that’s the best chance at changing
For that person.

That’s crazy to think the school is going to keep a dangerous person because they will try and are that’s persons best chance to change them.

Now our best hope is no one thinks he’s a a danger and all this goes away. That seems most likely to me but the school has no other choice but to dismiss him if he’s judged a danger.
@chargervol should know schools can’t risk the safety of the masses to try and rehab an individual.

Can't blame the guy. He's from Foggy Bottom.

@chargervol wrote: “policy or whatever aside, if the school believes there's even an ounce of potential for that kind of violence (and I doubt that) kicking him out or even off the team, would be the dumbest possible move.

“Him or anyone like, needs resources, help and structure. Kicking him out would be the equivalent of firing the 'disgruntled employee'. Hope they're not that foolish and instead invest in getting him help.”

I understand what you are saying but I think you are looking at it the wrong way. If the university believes a person is capable of harming any of its students it’s obligation is to greater good of the masses over the greater good on one individual. We all know structure is best for Thompson if he does have issues but to say that’s the decision or the school is foolish isn’t fair.
I'm tired of universities and other institutions that make up our ruling elites taking this position, and disappointed that you would endorse it. They take public money and tell us how to live our lives. They need to get their hands dirty and mix with the hoi polloi. All these holier than thou want the revenue but don't want to invest in the process. Even if he said something really stupid that should not get him kicked off the team or out of school, pending a little one on one evaluation. The young man has a future, don't kill him, which is what may happen.

The 10 degrees hotter thing is hilarious and so damn true. It seems to always be the fat, bald, middle-aged, red-faced, sweaty guys who destroy office bathrooms 2-3 times per day and actually increase the ambient temperature while doing so. They tend to live off of energy drinks and fast food. May or may not be chain-smokers.

OMG
I’m in a waiting room for an allergy shot and i was laughing out loud so hard i started wheezing and snorting a little.
All the other people waiting looked at me weird.

I didn’t dare attempt an explanation

Exactly what we have said multiple times. They really should come to my class.

I've learned a tun.

For starters, these posts were all pre-commitment to UT. It was all rumor discussion about what his delay was and why USC wouldn't pick him up. There is no animosity towards the kid or affiliation with UT in the thread, apart from one individual saying he might come here. So, using that reasoning to discredit it is.... well.... low-effort. I never said I believed any of it. I said it makes me a little uneasy. The only motivation for those posts were to provide possible insight into his situation. Namely, that he had a history of behavioral issues that were disturbing. That can't be ignored, and it is reasonable to consider it based on the conditions.

I didn't think he deserved anything other than in-house punishment and a game suspension. However, I imagine if there is any truth to his supposed history, the coaching staff knows and knows that violent behavior towards women is usually more than a one-off occurrence. If that is the case the university should provide counselling and he needs to be on a short leash.
There was nothing in that stupid thread about violence. It was a few "I heard that he had issues from a brother-in-laws sisters stepdads aunts boy" blah blah blah...

This is ridiculous...hell if you guys really knew how horrible I really WAS 20 years ago (and that is not hearsay, that is straight from me) most of you would want me banned from VN.

Yea if he isn’t dangerous to others and doesn’t have a pattern of this in his past then he needs to be supported and get on the field quickly

The only thing that should matter is this case, or at the most what he has done while he's been on campus. Goodness
